Fun Cyberpunk Roguelike Platformer
If you’ve been craving for a thrilling roguelike platformer, this game might scratch that itch. Even if you haven’t played anything similar but enjoy roguelikes or simply want to try something fresh and unique this title may be worth your time. I highly recommend playing with a controller. In fact, I was surprised to find that my PlayStation 4 controller worked natively, without any third‑party software. The PS button do show up and even the vibration works. I have also tested it with the Xbox One S which works fine as well.
The graphics are impressive I really dig the art style and the soundtrack fits the atmosphere beautifully there were moments where it really enhances the overall immersion. Just take the intro for example, the overall neon skylines and decaying futuristic environments, it really gives off some Blade Runner 2049 vibes.
Although, from a gameplay perspective some mechanics can feel a bit confusing at first and will take time to fully understand how they play out. But it can be rewarding as it leaves plenty of room for experimentation. For example, your weapons have unique move sets so watchout for combos you can excute on NPCs. Not to mention you can fuse hence the name 'Trinity Fusion' your characters, different upgrades, power-ups or abilities too. Furthermore, your chosen character will also determine your starting biome, a unique addtion to the genre that I haven't witnessed in other games.
But depending on how much you enjoy platformers, your mileage may vary but the game it still manages to deliver a compelling experience. Throughout my gameplay so far I haven't come across any perofmance issues or bugs, even runs like a dream even on my Ryzen 7 laptop with integrated graphics with some tweaks in the graphics settings of course.
Overall, in my opinion this is an underrated roguelike and I say that as someone with a sizable roguelike library. I typically purchase games on Steam even rebuying them on GOG for the titles I truly enjoy. But this is one of those rare moments when I have purchased directly from here and I don’t regret it.
