Great game but the beta patch is not released on gog causing a bad user experience compared to steam. Next time the decision where to buy new releases should be pretty simple. Very sad.
The game is in early access but the experimental patches are only accessible for people who buy on Steam, so if you want to try the latest update you have to wait far longer.
Let me be clear: Manor Lords has the makings of a truly great game, which is the main reason I feel compelled to write this review. The potential is clearly there.
Unfortunately, that potential is being squandered for GOG players. While the game is in Early Access, consistent updates are essential for progress. The Steam version receives regular patches, but the GOG version is lagging behind and makes it feel like we're getting a lesser experience. Considering it could be years before a full release, this "beta of a beta" approach makes it difficult for me to currently recommend.
I understand that game is in early access and that is completely fine, but GoG is not receiving updates like other platform which is quite not fair. As if game is in early access even beta patches should be distributed equally so more people can test it or atleast have a choice to update game or no.There are a lot of bugs that need to be fixed, like marketplaces, spreading the goods into the houses, farming etc. Amount of militia that player can have should be look into as Ai can have huge army 9+ groups while we can just have 5 groups and retinue. Its kinda annoying to watch other people playing this game updated and with some mechanics fixed while I cannot because I bought game on different platform. This might be a great game one day, one day.
This game is in early access, but early access updates are not available to people who bought the game on GOG. Players on Steam get beta/experimental updates and feature improvements every week or two, or even daily, while GOG players get an update every few months, maybe.
The latest build of Manor Lords with substantial new gameplay features has been out for weeks on Steam, while the version on GOG is literally months old.
If you are going to release a game to early access you should make early access builds available to ALL customers not just customers on a particular platform. This is anti-consumer, period.
