Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Summary
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

I was very excited for the mod to release and from what I have played the game is very good. The intro sets up an interesting story with good characters. The writing is good and the voice acting is very good for a mod. The problem I have with the mod is that for me it is currently unplayable. I cannot go more than a few minutes without the game crashing randomly. I have tried the different recommended graphical fixes and mods to help fix crashing but for me none of them work.
I currently cannot give this more than one star because of how it has been released in such an unplayable state, But I am excited to play this once it is fixed as mu overall first impression was good.
Most of the game is amazing, but there are problems.
The writing weakest point. I believe any of the writing or dialogue in the first hour of the game. The scientists' notes appear to have been written for a children's cartoon character, and the presumed antagonist really hams it up. I realize Fallout is all about humor, but it appears to be like I was meant to take these people seriously.
On a technical level, the game is in an unacceptable state. If it weren't for everything else, I would have given this game a one star. It is really delicate. Things like icon misalignment and lack of support for ultra-wide screen is more of a Bethesda problem, but there is no reason not to include quality of life improvments out-of-the-box.
Like everyone else, I crashed at the train. I ended up using Buffout 4 and Long Loading Times Fix from Nexus. That seemed to work, along with skipping the cutscene. It took about three tries after installing both mods and getting ultrawide to display in an acceptable way. I spent a total of about 5 hours of trail-and-error just to get the game two look right and get past the intro hub.
There is also some weird design decisions/glitches/quirks. The "Pip-boy" isn't a Pip-boy, but you do get to use its light at first. The modders seemed not to know how to turn this off, but required you to pick up a lantern after failing to enter an elevator with voice lines on the other side of the doors. Picking up the lantern makes a locked door open, and exchanges your Pip-boy lantern for a much worse, yet more "atmospheric" lantern. I am not sure why this even exists. There are several parts that are blocked off in the intro hub, so if you don't have the correct stats, I guess that's too bad.
This should have been tested more.
Knowing this is a mod of a Bethesda title, I'd even forgive it if it only crashed maybe once every hour or two. However, it crashes to desktop every minute or so. Most of my recorded playtime has been in the main menu or various loading screens with very little actual gameplay.
I wish I could give it a higher score, but right now with it being pretty much unplayable, I can only give it 1 star.
I'm aware about all the negative Reviews. In my opinion the Mod does not deserve them.
I downloaded the mod on day one and have played so far 18 (realtime) Hours into the Game.
In this time i had only 2 crashes. To be honest, for a Bethesda Game this is nothing. The Engine is buggy as hell and everybody knows it.
My installation went as follows:
1. Deinstall old Instance of F4
2. Got sure that nothing left behind:
-Check C:\Users\%user%\Documents\My Games (delete F4 Folder if any) (w10)
-Check C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local (delete F4 Folder if any) (w10)
3. Install F4 1.19.163
4. Install Folon (into the suggestet Folder (c:\gog\whatever) NOT into the F4 Folder directly!!!
5. Install Folon from the GOG Folder
5. run Fallout Launcher und set to your liking
6. run "f4se_loader.exe" NOT Fallout4.exe
That's what i did and it worked right after.
For the Game itself. So far it's made made fairly well. Story is interesting, Charakters are well made.
Keep in Mind that it is a free Work done from regular Guys/Gals/Whatever. No Big Money Company was involved. Compare it with the best Mods like the Thuggyverse or America Rising. Than you get the real Picture. Then you can cherish it.
Also: From all the "Big" Mods like Fallout Miami, Cascadia and such, this one has really happend. If the others will really arrive some day only Gods knows.
From me 10 Stars to the Developers.
So im about 30 Hours in the game, found only 2 bugs so far (1 in a quest and 1 in a location where if you try to get out, game will constantly crash) and im enjoying it alot even if my english isnt that good (only english sub and dub available). Game will crash frequently but you can turn on 5mins autosave + quicksave everytime ure going into loading screen or end a fight/finish looting if theres good loot, just to make sure. I had worse experience with skyrim and fallout 4 mods. Played about 7 hours yesterday and had 2 crashes over that day, decide and try for yourself if thats gamebreaking or not. (Playing on a i7-14700k and rtx4090 24gb on 4k at max settings)
