Decent wolfenstein spiritual successor. The game provides some permanent boosts and hidden doors. I tried 4 weapons so far (knife, pistol, shotgun, machine gun) which were satisfying. The graphics are cute and gory at the same time which makes for a fun combination.
Turning feels a bit brisk and it is a little hard to zero in on opponents to shoot, but you get used to it.
The game gives you some lives so that you can restart in place when you die, otherwise you restart at the beginning of the level. There is no minimap and no saving during a level (if you close the game mid-level, you restart that level from the beginning).
The game has some laser barriers that kill you instantly. When you die, you restart right were you die if you have some lives saved up, otherwise you restart at the beginning of the level. No a good combination. I essentially lost all my lives getting stuck in a dead end with a laser barrier that moved towards me. Had to essentially restart that level with my life counter back at zero (ie, if I did after that for example by getting hit with a laser barrier, I'll probably have to restart the level from scratch as I have no lives saved up any more).
Given that I was careful to play safe and stock up my lives (you can find some as you progress, but not that many), it was somewhat of a downer. I'm taking a break after that frustration. I may or may not get back to the game (probably not). It was pleasant, but no so great that I must absolutely get back in and power through if the game frustrates me which it did.
