Vainamoinen I still can't give my vote to this one, but I might revert my stance. At present, activists drag every single discussion about the game and movie industry into the political sphere. It's beyond me why GOG doesn't just yank people out who are blaming anything imaginable on 'woke people'. Given the recent history of the word, these folks might as well blow Tr*mp's d*ck in public and GOG officials would still struggle to classify their lip service as political. GOG doesn't want to take a side in the culture war, so they're bowled over by it. Threads with valuable topics are close by the dozen, and GOG officials twoside the living hell out of the situation. This is an insult to the community of gaming enthusiasts that we've had before the Tea Party came along and gay soldiers were booed in the Republican primary debates.

I agree with the guy above. These forums have important info on how to get old games working. We'd be left in the dark to get them properly setup without the forums.

KenryKenjamin I strongly disagree. You do not have to engage in the forums if you do not want to. I typically only check the forums to vote for community wishlist, but it makes no sense to close a way for the community to communicate with the company and each other. You do NOT have to use the forums if you do not like them.
einexile I don't like the forums and I haven't used them in years. Incredibly, no harm has come to me by them remaining open for others to use.

In the general forum, people are difficult to deal with and lack empathy, unfortunately. They don't even understand what preservation is properly and the meaning of the term "DRM free" and the free sharing of the games we buy with our money.
shinobody Currently GOG forums are the best place to find info about running and troubleshooting for these games.
Just implement a community moderation scheme like on Reddit. It's far from perfect but should lower toxicity to managable levels.
