There is a community of retro gamers that build and play on retro PCs. I know some GOG games already do this, but it would be great if it was an intentional feature of all DOS games.

The current installer packages are a PITA. I should not need WINE to unpack a DOS game to use in DOSBOX on linux. Furthermore, the current installer format is mostly just about making me agree to the EULA of the installer (not the game), showing me adverts for things I have or don't want, and setting up support links which are useless to me.
