crummmcakes The wiki article linked above says that this game and its expansion were ported to Linux by Feral Interactive in June 2014.
Is there a reason that GOG is only offering the Windows version? Are there plans to add the Linux port?

Ediros I would love to play this game on gog. It is already available on steam, but I would rather not buy it there. I don't want even more DRM.
To top it off, it is six years old at this point and even Fallout New Vegas is now available, which I bought, despite owning it on steam.

Bloody9 Now that Oblivion is on GOG, this is the game I'm hoping for the most now. Since XCOM2 has been out for a while now it would be a great time to release this XCOM here. The complete edition with Linux support to play over the LAN at home would be a dream come true. Please GOG make this happen!

TheGoldenGecko Let GOG just be a place to buy retro and indie games. And, well, CDProjekt's own Witcher series, to be fair, it is their shop. This X-COM reboot is no old game, albeit a good one from what I've seen.
It's not just a matter of quaintness, once they'd start adding recent AAA titles, GOG would be increasingly in the grip of the money and that which makes it stand out (and above Steam) would eventually wither away in complacency and greed. Money corrupts all. Best to keep up certain walls, certain limits, to stave off its insidious corruption.

Really, the computer is such a cheating bastard, blatant hacking/modding it is the only way to make it fun. Enjoyable challenge is great, but not when the computer is deliberately stacking the deck/rubber banding in it's own favor.
mikelimtw With XCOM2 just around the corner, getting XCOM Enemy Unkknown Complete Edition on GOG would be a great way to enjoy this great series.

Bajamamut I, like a lot of people, would like to have this great game, DRM-Free, with all of its content. It's the rebirth of a Classic - which should be brought to GOG as well, by the way

felixsylvaris XCOM EU (and EW even more) is a very good tactical game, and could fit the GOG community preferences. Great idea to bring it in, as long as... it will come with whole series of old UFO as well. That could be great release of all UFO of the past, recent XCOM and soon XCOM2. Bestseller.

Singular8ty For people saying, "just get openxcom," you do realize that you actually need XCOM: UFO Defense (vanilla) installed, right?
This post is about the new one, but the old one would still be great because openXCom requires a vanilla release of XCOM.

whatsnottaken OK, guys saying "openxcom.org", you realize this is the "new" X-com right? The one made for consoles and PC a couple years back? And yes, it was pretty good, definitely more lenient than the original (depending on difficulty chosen) but still really nice, even with some minor improvements. Particularly with cover, action points (as in, there are none), and percentages to hit. Enemy Within even improved some of that, but as a worthy sequel to what is undeniably a Good Old Game, I agree it would be cool to see on here.

neube openxcom.org/ - free, open-source clone of the original with added features, moddability, different resolutions (for both battle- and geoscape), fixes (e.g. produce more than 1 item per hour, blaster launcher vertical bug). Most of the features from the old XComUtil and others are either included as-is or already available as a free mod.
