Rules of Engagement 2 was my absolute favorite game! I still remember unpackaging the box and flipping through the hefty manual...those were the days!
I remember contacting mr. Thomas Carbone (CEO omnitrend) around 2002 to get hold of a copy of the SDK to further customize the game (change statitics and adds custom ship images).

By the way, it IS possible to get the link between ROE2 en Breach 3 to work. You need the absolute latest patches of both. I remember somebody packaged the two in one neat installation. Had it for years on me drive, worked perfectly!

The company Omnitrend that created these games is still around, and they still hold the rights, so it's not abandonware, even though the company only develops business software rather than games these days. I believe the Jordan Freeman Group are looking into rereleasing the games though.

I remember getting Breach 2 and Breach 3 "back in the day" but was unable to find a copy of Rules of Engagement 2. To date, I've never heard anyone on the consumer side of things who'd been able to get both games to work together. I want to point out that Breach 2 & 3 were both stand alone games and weren't "expansions" to Rules of Engagement 2. They were just supposed to work together.

I had Breach 2 way back when and really enjoyed it. I would like to see this either brought back or a remake of this game.

I still have my boxed version of RoE2 at home. Such an amazing game and so far ahead of its time. I always wanted to get Breach 3 and link them but missed getting a copy back in the day. Omnitrend is actually still around. They sell phone text api services now. Until a couple years ago they still had a link on their page talking about the games. There was a whole series of games set in the Universe 2 setting. Great early DOS games and very worthy of inclusion on GOG. Since the original company is still around it seems like it might be an easier one to get the licensing.

I tried to get the ROE2 / Breach3 thing to work with abandonware downloads and it was a no go. It would be AMAZING if we could get an official release of these 2 together for the full experience. There is little to no information on how to get the 2 games working together and I believe it requires specific versions that are not necessarily available now. Probably not a big money maker but Rules of Engagement 2 alone is an amazing game that was waaaay ahead of it's time, and having a modern download that can easily integrate with Breach 3 would be something I would instantly open my wallet for.
