hope it won't take too long to come to GOG now, though the other Zoom releases haven't made it here in years either (they got Re-loaded, A Vampyre Story and Zone Raiders).
This game is so great! It's a first-person space trader. You can trade goods, smuggle narcotics, work as an assassin for a faction, be a bounty hunter, a scavenger, whatever. The story is the typical space-trader: get enough money and retire, with a small twist of having to attend certain events or pick up certain items to move the plot.
Moths (ships) are very limited in movement, they feel like helicopters, but the CPU plays fair, so combat is fun. Ships are somewhat balanced, and many aspects keep it clean, such as having homing rockets but you can deploy evasive artifacts, and the CPU fighters don't have infinite ammo, they often retreat to their hangar.
And there's so many details, the game feels alive. It's not just the interaction between factions, there's so many little things. One of my favorites is that every pilot has a name, so you can be assaulted by some pirate and then come back stronger and hunt him to death.
The CD version has appropiately cheesy FMV sequences for every plot step, along with very appropiate background music.

pachubatinath I remember having the full-page advert for this game on my wall as a kid, because it was one of the games I wanted by never saw in the shops. I stared at it over and over and tried to imagine what the game was like to play, but never got the chance. If it comes on GOG=instabuy.

not doubts!, buying when on GOG
If GOG intends to sell this game and patch it, I remember the game was unbeatable because of a design flaw that prevented you from going where you needed to progress the game. Unfortunately, It's been too long and I can't remember where that was in the game. It will need to be fixed though if it is to be sold again.

but as often the case with them, there's little to none support for it, and it was a buggy mess that constantly crashed. I had to ask for an immediate refund.
8 years of GOG and this classic still hasn't appeared. Tut.
I have the version that's floating out there, perfectly playable with UIM o6 BUT no CD music and it's a pain to get running. If this suddenly appeared here able to run at 1080p with music intact I'd be a very happy pixie.

I remember playing this when it came out, it was among the first games i bought for myself, got my dad interested and i bought him a copy too with my spare cash i got from recycling cans, we played it repeatedly for weeks on end when we had time, to this day i still pop the discs in and play but they are in dire need of replacing and no longer copyable, i'm very terrified of loosing this great game please add this so i can get a copy and remember the good old times with dad.
Out of all the remakes and all the clones from this era, nothing compares to this game..
on the other hand if you want the game to 'just work' after you get it off the disc, go download the "UIM 06" patch and install it. it runs at lower FPS but it causes the game to be able to run natively at 1080p. personally i prefer running the game straight, no patches
note for others here: if you're having problems installing off-disc because of the 'disc space' issue, set it to like windows 95 compat mode (or something) and that should solve it. also, the game runs very very nicely in nGlide version 1.04 if you set the game to "run" at 640x400 --- but tell nGlide to render at full size 1080p. the only downside is that the mouse area ends up running off the screen. you can also download a fix DLL which lets you use ogg vorbis files for music instead of CD audio; check Captain Zedo's forums for it, its in the game mods subforum
Just dropping my "want" in here. This game was very fun when I was younger and creeps into my mind a couple times a year.

i would give my left nut to be able to play harwar again, i lost many many hours to this, almost as many as i lost to x2: the threat (which was hundreds of hours of gameplay) would buy it in a heartbeat
A Elite-like game with an amazing atmosphere. It is very hard to come by, and would be a great addition to GOG's catalog.
Totally agree - I'd buy a copy again in a heartbeat. But I might have to go buy a proper flight stick to play it...

And it's a game.
Most importantly, it's not on a certain platform owned by Valve, so GOG would be the only legitimate source. As a matter of fact, that goes for many if not all the Gremlin Interactive games.

overmind2000cc For me and my brother this game was a huge part of our later childhood and early teenage years. It's cool, strange, and unique even for it's genre in a way that has never really been duplicated since, and it's a game that I'd easily buy a copy of for myself and at lest five other people if it were on GOG.
Yemach_Shemo This is one of the best games ever made. Quite unique in it's character and setting. Solar powered craft. Complete independence of movement and action. Great storyline. Massive replayability.

This is a game I really want to replay. The atmosphere is great, music is good and it's a little bit weird. I actually bought it back in the day after the demo but sadly bought in German accidently. Still had fun with it but I'd like to do it in English this time :)
Now when DotEmu has shut down, I really want the game on GOG.

I still hope that someone will find out who's the owner of Hardwar IP, buy it and make a remake of it, or maybe the owner would open source it. Imagine it in UE4 engine. :D
