Fatal Racing
+1 in 2025 ^^
Very nostalgic for this game.
Not sure if its all that good persay but something about it always stuck with me.
Certainly the music.
Lost track of the backup copy I made of my original copy to run in dosbox but thought I'd check if it ever made it to GoG.
Guess not yet but fingers crossed it can happen one day.
Preferably all the different versions available in one pack to end all the hunting online.
I knew the game as "Whiplash" so probably others haven't found out it's original name for tracking it down.
Again, hope it can make it to GoG one day for ease of play and preservation.
Oh my god, I JUST finally found this game through 'Horizon Chase Turbo', which had Barry Leitch as the composer, who in turn in the past also composed for a game called 'Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge' (which I also had on MDII), which in turn was published by Gremlin Interactive, which also published 'Fatal Racing', which is how I found my way to it and here. - I've searched for this game for so long, but all I had was visual memories! - I also had the disc, cause I saw a picture of it and the case, which is what I had, but I don't know where it is. So... GOG, you know what to do!
Joguei tanto isso na minha infância. É um jogaço!

I also loved this game. Played it to death and maxed out every track in pole in record times. It ran in Windows XP in 640x480 but never got it going nicely in Win7.
I still have the original UK/Euro installation CD if anyone needs source files or ideally if GOG wants to host it :-)
Me and my friend played this game for hours just so much fun please get it!
I want this game, I had got it for free when I got my Monster 3D Voodoo 1 3DFX card back in the late 1990s, and it was called Whiplash
Such a great game! One of those bargain bin finds that hooked me for hours and hours and hours as a kid. I would love to see this on GOG!
One of my all time favourites. I grew up playing this game on my Pentium MMX system worth S3 Virge and 64 MB RAM.
This game is AWESOME !!! PLZ make it happen!!
Fucking awesome Good Game !!!
Jogo bom pra kralho!!!
Would love to see this game added to GOG - one of the best PC racing games ever done.
Magnificent if somewhat underrated arcade racing game. This game definitely should be in GOG library.
The best version (and dare I say, true version) of this game is the Rendition Verite version since it preserved all the UI elements of the software version while drastically boosting the 3D performance at 640x480. The 3DFX version couldn't keep any of the in-game UI since the Voodoo had no 2D hardware. Here's a comparison video to see for yourselves ---- www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdhPe5max4E
I grew up playing this game. It is, by far, my favorite racing game of all time. At first glance, it looks like a generic racer, but its AI is impressively smart even by today's standards, and the tracks are completely insane. Each car has wildly different characteristics and some are more suited for certain types of tracks than others. Can't forget the awesome switchable CD and MIDI soundtracks, either. If this is ever inducted, please be sure to make note of the few differences between the European Fatal Racing and the American Whiplash: The first difference is that the US release has a different, louder, and more enthusiastic announcer. The second and major difference is that the cars in the American version are about 14 MPH faster. This completely changes the dynamic of the game, and makes it significantly harder, since you can overshoot a landing very easily, and the corkscrew jumps require precise throttle control to avoid landing upside-down. Playing Whiplash on Death difficulty with the advanced carset is a one-way ticket to Explosiontown!
3Dfx version of Whiplash aka Fatal Racing please, this one is quite rare. The normal version is only playable in 320x200 as 640x480 is horrendously slow, this was perhaps a limitation of the game itself not emulation in Dosbox as it was even slow on MS-Dos running high end Pentium 2 and 3's.

First PC game I ever bought. A great racing game, I still have the CD lying around and playing it on my "retro" PC every once in a while. Never managed to get the 3Dfx version running, though. I miss those arcade racing games that feature tracks with loopings and cork screws, and ramming enemies until they explode. Global Motors forever! xD
Can't forget how amazing this game is! Still have it in 13 floppy disks (it was about 17MB)! Day one purchase once available!
Yup, kind of a cross between Stunt Car Racer and Destruction Derby. Great game!
The name outside the US is called Fatal Racing. Otherwise, it's called Whiplash.
