Do not remove the original Neverwinter from the store completed
BG:EE DOES include the original - "Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition includes the classic Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga." And Neverwinter Nights Diamond is included with the EE. I understand this wish to be for retaining the ability to purchase separately though.
was at 1337 votes, but I love this game, sorry ;)
also removed
It's going to be bundled with the EE this Thursday, like the other Beamdog EE's.
"Buying EE should include the original in the bonus downloads."
What do you know. BG:EE (I have more EE's) don't include original. That's really disappointing! I have the originals in my Library but you'd just have to hunt for physical copies to play the originals. We are not sheeps! Let us choose, not the other way around!
silently admit and accept every shady tactics that a some company can pull out. because you just consumer that didnt have any rights or instruments like community wishlist or something in order at least to show your attitude...
While beamdog has been doing a notoriously shitty job of the enhanced editions (including but not limited to hiring hack writers to write terribly received and unnecessary expansions) that doesn't give GOG the power to ignore legally binding contracts.
If beamdog owns the publishing rights then they don't get a say in keeping or removing the games from the stores. All you can do is stock up now and keep installers.
Buy the old game now and be done with it! You all know the old game will be pulled from the store, and GOG has nothing to say on this
The original Neverwinter Nights is a true classic and I also agree that it should remain available even if the Enhanced Edition is eventually available on GOG.
It's likely that Beamdog has bought all publishing rights with all of the games they release as enhanced editions, and obviously they want to recoop on their investment. It's not being greedy at all, we're talking about very old games, and even with the enhanced editions, they aren't going to break any sales records. There's an easy way around it if you want the original though, just buy it now, and it will forever be in your library. Or if you wait, you'll most likely have to buy it bundled with the enhanced edition. It's a small price to pay for getting updates to these older games though, and we should be thankful they still make the originals available at all.
I litterly got my GoG account just to buy Neverwinter nights 1 and 2 (with the addons...) and yes I do mean Litterly, as in what I have writen in plain text...
It's not up to GOG.com.
And also, I would not whine about this one - especially this can be the first Enhanced Edition of a game, that really needs it :P
I was lucky enough to purchase a pack with all the old content before it was pulled: don't understand why they're pulling it for purchase though...
Buying EE should include the original in the bonus downloads.
Sounds like a nice wish. It is not gog's call, unfortunatlly.
I hope it stays, but it may not be up to GOG. If Hasbro tells GOG they have to bundle it or otherwise remove it, they may have no choice.
(talking about the original Baldur's Gate games)
It's a shame that they removed the original version.
They did the same with BG, Planescape, and Icewind Dale. They're just greedy bastards.
Agreed, and there should also be a small discount on the enhanced edition if you own the original.
