Devotion
Another year without GOG undoing this craven censorship, another year without a single purchase in this storefront. Keep winning GOG - by doubling down on these and other "bowing to the mob" decisions, you've gone from being my first stop and enthusiastic recommendation, to having my utmost contempt. Problem for you being, I'm not alone.
The world needs more asian horror, and Devotion is a masterwork. Stop bowing to Chinese censorship.
fuck drm.
Just remembered this and am checking in for the usual reminder. You don't need to be afraid of the Pooh Bear you know. You are still a bunch of stupid suckers for this idiot move. When are we gonna get someone who isn't a pissbaby to run the shop and GOG PR? Anyway disappointing as this still is as is GOG's silence after all this time you can still buy both the devs' games (Detention is the other) from Red Candle's own store, and I believe they are DRM-free too.
You've lost devotion, both from your long-time base and the game itself. Bring both back, the free world has had enough of you doing the CCP's bidding.
Still devoted to Devotion, check my gog "purchases" if you want to see. It's not that you did it, it's how you did it and without remorse in complete opposition to the GOG.com mission statement, CD Projekt RED.
Bring back Devotion!
I used to buy every game from GoG if it was available. Haven't bought a thing since they pulled Detention and Devotion. You've got a better store than anyone else on PC; I want to buy from you again GoG. Do the right thing.
periodic post to say, fuck this censorship
Fuck the CCP and fuck GOG for self-censoring
GOG: do the decent thing; listen to your real customers; and RELEASE DEVOTION, without delay!
Not in relation to me. From recommending their store to full stop, no purchases. The ideological nature of their store, the only reason you'd really buy from it instead of others, completely torn down. DEVOTION DEVOTION DEVOTION DEVOTION DEVOTION DEVOTION
Look at this. A long time since i last checked on this wishlist. This definitely lost a lot of traction, it seems sitting out the storm worked quite ok for GOG. Anyways I still would love to see the game released here and I still would buy it day one just to make a statement.
Bought this directly from Red Candle. It's censored. Would like for it to show up at GOG but only if it's uncensored.
You know if gog had at least been honest about the removal I would have probably forgiven them for this. Lying and blaming their customers for the removal of this game is the one thing I'll never forgive gog for.
GOG used to be my favorite store even for games I already owned, the one I used to recommend to everyone, now they are the one that I've been skipping for nearly two years running. I was prepping to buy Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, still haven't bought it, won't even buy the new Witcher game. GOG got rid of my devotion in more than one way.
GOG just tell us if you're pro-censorship, at least then you'll be honest.

How many more gamers do you need GOG, for the game to get released? Can you do it outside China were many messages from gamers don't apply? Don't you think backpedalling on Devotion, helping to restrict it globally an attack on free speech?
Be better than this GOG, say no to censorship. You're not in People's Republic of Poland or China.
Universal freedom for the Global citizen.
Remember Red Candle are selling Devotion DRM-free on their own store (see links in various comments below). Consider buying it there.
Top Gun Maverick rolled back its censoring, its never too late to follow suit and give a true explanation or sell the game here.
https://shop.redcandlegames.com/bundles/devotion-bundle
I don't even like horror, but I'll buy devotion if you put it on the GOG store
@GOG: perhaps it's time to listen to your customers, a.k.a. the 'many gamers' who are funding your business, and RELEASE DEVOTION IMMEDIATELY.
https://shop.redcandlegames.com/app/devotion
Stop bowing to CCP drones..release the game!
I would also like to add that I have not purchased any GoG games since Devotion was pulled.

Reminder that I refuse to give gog any more of my money since this fiasco happened
Remember when you actually cared to sell products to customers gog?
remember you can now get Devotion and Detention DRM-free at Red Candle Games' own store: shop.redcandlegames.com (scroll down)
Periodic reminder: no games bought since this fiasco, and I'm not alone. Apologize to the developers and release Devotion already.
The devotion of many gamers has departed GOG, just like what you did with this game on December 16, 2020. It's still possible to get both back...
If nothing else, release this only because it gives the finger to China.
Because they like doubling down on bad decisions, like Putin.
So uh, https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ukraine-asks-playstation-xbox-and-many-more-to-stop-supporting-russia/1100-6501182/. Not okay with Russia, but okay with China?
Supporting Ukraine offends the same group of Chinese who was offended by Devotion. Why not just release Devotion?
The charity for the Ucraine is only this week, however, so don't bother purchasing it afterwards, except from some other store. #FreeUcraine #FreeHongKong #FreeTaiwan
Turns out I will purchase one more game from GOG:

https://www.gog.com/en/game/this_war_of_mine_complete_edition

It also has to do with why I'm purchasing it after having purchased it on Steam, and why I purchased Devotion from their website.
GOG: you need to listen to your customers, do the right thing and release Devotion *immediately*. We will not forget and nothing short of that will be acceptable.
Get back your customers' devotion GOG. Release the game.
We don't bow to communist pressure on censorship, especially when its applied outside of China.
China's Communist Party is pig disgusting.
It would be nice if they either put it on the store or gave an adequate explanation as to why it wasn't permitted to be sold. If the excuse is that they were hounded by thousands of "gamers" (i.e. rabid supporters of the CCP) - that's not adequate.

The sad irony of all this is that GOG and CDPR are Polish companies. It's surprising that they would cow-tow to China, given Poland's history of fighting with and being threatened by the Soviets.
It's ok if gog doesn't give an answer, just like it's ok for us not to put it on a pedestal and buy from it anymore. I can happily say 2021 was GOG-free for me. From free press in social media and transitioning to purchasing principally on this platform to a complete zero. Good job, GOG! Oh, and to China too, for showing us it's better to piss on their horrible censorship and genocidal practices because submitting to their request like Red Candle eventually did results in nothing.
Just reminding myself the actual gamers don’t support genocidal regimes
I just remembered this being a thing lol. Wasn't this around when Cyberpunk 2077 came out, and the disasters surrounding that release overshadowed everything else.

I'm glad that this game can legitimately be bought from Red Candle directly, but with China pretty much banning video games in their country and shutting out any western influence altogether the "gamers" who wanted this gone I don't think have a say in anything here anymore. They're never going to go back to this to give an honest answer but so long as nobody forgets they did this and keep pushing there's more of a chance they'll budge than if we continued to sit around and just let this matter go.
Hey GOG, looks like Steam was just banned in China. You're next. :)
How Many Gamers (TM) does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Still holding out, but I don't necessarily want Devotion on GOG, Red Candle Games might be fed up with GOG. Plus, I already bought it from them. I want GOG to own up to what really happened and not lie to us, but the old GOG might be dead or maybe never existed.
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/boycotting_gog_2021
@TheRPGenius: I couldn't have said it better. Boycott forum thread for anyone who finds the Devotion situation unacceptable and isn't signed up yet: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/boycotting_gog_2021
@TheRPGenius Same here. Seems like situation with Devotion died down a bit, so not sure if GOG's financial difficulties are explained solely by this incident, but I for sure haven't bought anything from the store since. Kinda sad, really. But at least you can buy the game directly from the devs now :3
