I haven't found many engaging stories in video games, but Fallout New Vegas was! Great game. I read advice only that playing with mods is a must, to avoid crashes and quality-of-life fixes. I didn't follow this advice, and managed to complete the game and DLCs just fine. Occasionally a gamesave wouldn't load, but it would succeed on a retry. 70 hours spent playing and I want more! Worked great on Steam Deck, with a mixture of VATS and joystick aiming.
