

Yes, it's not "there" yet, but the devs have kept at it and it improves. Inventory improvements and crafting address some of the previous frustrations. Being able to craft a "beacon" to mark spots to visit again runs counter to the "Atlas" narrative of moving on, but is a very welcome addition. The visuals are arresting, a lovely aesthetic that immediately sets this game apart. The crushing weight of the expectations for this game could never have been lifted by any dev team. We all saw that they were onto something, perhaps it will still emerge. In the meantime, especially in the new Creative Mode, it's a lovely way to spend some time and explore a huge procedural universe.
