I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream

good story, bad gameplay

I like the story, but the gameplay is sort of disappointing. It is not rewarding and not forgiving. Mechanics is quite bad and obscure at times. It is intentionally made difficult, but I don't see this adding any value. So, can I recommend it? Yes, but only as a walking simulator, i.e., use a walk-through. Also recommend to read the FAQ about possible glitches and some gameplay nuances.

Oxenfree

nice walking and chat simulator

I like this game, it exceeded my expectations. But it is not ideal and here is why. It includes some boring and repetitive actions (like "walk from one side of the map to another" or "collect all items evenly spread over the whole map"). It also forces to make decisions fast, sometimes very fast. Characters are extremely talkative (so I would say this is also a talk simulator), but I don't mind this as I'm still learning English and like listening to the chatter. On the other hand, it includes an interesting plot with twists, simple but good graphics with nice special effects, good voice acting. One question that bothered me till the very end is if decisions affect anything. Turned out they do. All in all I like it, but I'm not going to play it again.

Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™

cannot recommend it

I used to play the first part of the installment and I loved it. So, this time, many years later, I bought the second part. And I'm disappointed. While the plot, the core ideas and dialogues look interesting, the implementation is quite horrible. Battle mechanics is one of the worst I ever seen: I don't like infinitely spawning cops that just appear out of the air, etc. There are bugs, there are hard-scripted NPC, etc. One of the most annoying things is that levels a very-very small. Every time you go through the door, enter the room or just go to another end of the map etc the game has to load. And this process is not instant, this wastes a lot of time for me. So, buy it only if you used to play and want to bring "good old memories" of the past. Otherwise, take something better (like, uhm, witcher?).
