I was a teenager when these games came out in the 90s and loved them. I've kept playing them both over the years, even as they became harder and harder to get working on modern systems, so really happy to see them here. Better graphics and engine than the original Hexen, though a lot of people were never fans of how the game "feels". There isn't a deep story here or anything- just hack and slash your way through numerous levels filled with creatures and some interesting traps. There was a lot of potential here though- I love the way the different goblin tribes (forest, desert, and mountain) will fight amongst themselves.

This is more an experience than a game; a movie where the player can choose to linger in a scene, or occasionally explore a different hallway than the one they're expected to go down. It's an amazing experience though and I enjoyed the ride. I love the atmosphere (even if the colors did give me headaches). This isn't a "hard on the streets" game though; everything takes place in a single apartment building. I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in "Transhuman Space", or the possible implications of augmented reality. It does not answer all the questions that are asked, and it provides a terrifying idea of a future where technology is like a virus, but people still embrace it because they don't know anything else anymore. Cons: Every level where you have to "hide from the monster" is kind of a chore. I wish the game focused more on the "cyberpunk detective" angle, but I respect what the creators were trying to do here. I would have loved more NPCs to interact with, and some more locations (though the tight nature of the scenery gives the game a special magic, especially in retrospect).

This is the only "Army Men" game I've ever enjoyed. It's a solid real-time strategy, a product of its time, but has some interesting level design and objectives (I particularly like destroying a mysterious "factory" built in a kitchen sink). The game is a great entry-level RTS for younger players; there are better, more advanced RTS games out there for older people, but my son cut his teeth with this, and thus I'm giving it 5 stars. The fun, complexity, and design are ideal for an introductory game that an experienced gamer can still enjoy too. Multi-player is also great and I've never had any problems getting a game up on my home network.
