it´s just as good as the old DnD classics and if you like those, you will like this.

The gameplay (on normal) lacks impact completely. Even the most basic enemy takes 10 or so hits to kill making every fight a complete slog. It feels like they just didn't bother balacing the damage at all and instead just depend on the player kicking things of ledges or into fires. The kick/push button is the only viable attack close range. The objectives are repetetive and just annoying but at least they tie into the story nicely and the game has a decent story and the world and setting works really well. If only it was fun to play. I would suggest that if you want to play this, do so on easy and just enjoy the story. The gameplay is not worth bothering with at all.

First let me say that I love this game. I have a few missions left according to the mission select and it's been an very enjoyable romp from start to almost finish. I fully intend to finish the last 10% or so, however this game has a few very annoying nitpicks for me. First and foremost the music, some tracks feel very disconnected from the games tempo and when they loop the cut is extremely noticeable. Bear in mind that I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 650s so I might be overly picky when it comes to stuff like this. But a nicer fade out / fade in would have been much nicer than the sharp cuts that bring me out of the experience. On the topic of sound, some of the sound effects are kinda harsh but when the entire soundscape is in play this is a almost non issue. the shotgun shell landing sound is especially odd since it seems to bounce with your movements instead of stay in place where it landed. Second, I could not find a way to run the game in 4K, not even 1440p. That is a big letdown since upscaling from 1080p is kinda noticeable on a 55" TV. When it comes down to it, I'm still having fun with the game and knocking it down a star for the nitpicks seems fair. If my nitpicks aren't something that will annoy you, you could consider my review a 5 star one.

This game is such a journey. From the start to the end you never feel like you are going through the motions, every new area, quest, encounter feels exciting and filled with options and freedom. All this is thanks to the philosophy that the developer followed when making this game. Don't stop people from being creative. The freedom combined with a deep and interesting RPG mechanic makes this game the best RPG in decades, perhaps even the best RPG of all time. Do yourself a favor and don't write this gem of a game off before you have tried it.
