Crysis Remastered

Really good until the middle of the game

I just finished Crysis Remastered. Well, almost. The game is real fun until the middle of the game when you start fighting aliens instead of soldiers. The aliens are just zigzagging around with enormous speed which makes the game totally hectic. From this point on the fun turns into stress. When you die you start from the last checkpoint. But where I start it just takes two seconds until the final boss is freezing me with a frost beam. As soon as I free myself from the freeze I am hit by the next frost beam and get frozen again. Then I die. So I am trapped in a death cycle and lost all interest in finishing the game. So I watched the end on you tube and now I know I am just one minute away from the closing scene. I give the first half on Crysis 4.5 points and the second half 1.5 points. So 3 points in total. It's not that I don't like the aliens story wise. It's just the way they are implemented as opponents. It simply makes no fun to fight them. (Later in the game you have to fly a vertical take off plane which is really the worst aircraft I have played so far in any game. It is very hard to maneuver and makes absolutely no fun. Sorry, but it is really really bad.)

Master of Magic Classic

Blockige Grafik – kaum was erkennbar

Master of Magic Classic ist reine Zeitverschwendung.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun

Janky controls are too tedious

The game does not forgive imprecise clicks. At the same time it interprets clicks in a very imprecise manner. E.g. I often try to let two characters act at the same time. This is done thru pressing shift while you click orders. Not seldom just one character acts while the other one sits still and the whole attack is ruined. As a result I have to press F8 (load last save) too often. So your frustration tolerance has to be quite high if you want to enjoy this game. Because your moves might have worked out fine if they just would have been executed as intended. For me the janky controls are too tedious so I dropped this one.

Cyberpunk SFX

Redout: Solar Challenge Edition

The best of it's kind

Redout is still THE BEST Anti-Gravity Racer out there! It's arcade with a good portion of simulation. Compared to other Anti-Gravity Racers like F-Zero and Wipeout you have more freedom in handling your sled. Steering allows for sensitive maneuvers and with some practice you will even get around sharp corners. The learning curve is quite steep in the beginning, but once you master the handling of your sled the way is free for the fastest and most exciting thrill of speed you can possibly get from a video game. My basic advice: anticipate the upcoming track and e. g. turn into the curve before you are actually there. Once you get that you will have a lot of fun with the game. Furthermore the spaceballs slogan "we brake for nobody" is king. Just take out a little bit of gas and in the middle of the corner press the boost button to propel yourself out of the corner (and away from the side walls). Finally: Redout II isn't bad, but it's much more arcade like. It lacks the sensitive maneuvering from Redout I. Thus, it's easier to learn in the beginning but less exciting on the long run.
