It is as if the JRPGs from the 1990s continued to evolve into the modern era. Every single aspect is extremely well made: The story, the music, the pixel art, the dungeon layouts, the relatively simple yet strategic combat system. Most RPGs have happy music in towns, but here there are many towns here with somber, sad music that reflects upon the horrors of war that are ever-present in this world. The scars of the previous war are visible in the characters and locations throughout the game. It was a fantastic experience for me.
