Aside from Ultima VII: The Black Gate, the only other game from the nineties where I consistently logged innumerable hours was Terminal Velocity. For me, a huge selling point was the fact that I could just tool around shooting things down at any time I wanted, and then could get back into flying for the actual objectives. With a green world, desert world, furnace world, space station, and other varying planets, it's hard to find the game as repetitive as another reviewer did, especially when part of the fun of the game is just exploring and bombing lonely supply depots hand-placed into neat corners of the world. The fact that, well ahead of its time, it also featured combined arms from the enemies (air, anti-air, and vehicle) to mix up your targets was also a huge plus. Don't expect a simulator here -- Terminal Velocity is all about distilled schmup gameplay, and if that's not for you, that's not for you. I can say, however, that it's *definitely* for me, and chances are good it actually is for you too.
