Cyberpunk 2077

Disappointing

a massive let down

Cyberpunk 2077

Goodwill ended with Cyberpunk

I got the game when it came out but could not be bothered to write a review because my enthusiasm for it was declining as I was progressing along, this mind you, has nothing to do with bugs mind you, just the game itself. I have hundreds of hours in this game at this point, mostly cause I like the city and visual aesthetic of the game, shooting is also pretty fun, having a wacky blade or godly hacker build can also be quite enjoyable. That said, game itself is quite "mid" as the kids would say, even after tons of patches not everything is fixed, controls were clearly build for consoles, hacking means you scroll through your hacks with mouse wheel and have no shortcuts, so if your cursor moves from target by a pixel for a second you have to scroll through hacks again, things like grenades and implants that are not passive are abound to same key, you can only equip 3 weapons yet you can pause and change loadout at any time so not allowing us to bind them or other consumables makes no sense, there are variety of brands of food and drinks and none of them ever present any unique effects when consumed, weapon and clothes modification is dull and boring, clothing system was improved now that clothing stats are kinda meaningless unmodded but also did not introduce any interesting mods either, so it's barebones, cop system still sucks, street vendors completely underutilized, radio stations are filled with garbage like hip hop and rap even if station is supposed to be all about rock, we were promised selection of illegal implants in Pacifica as well as different authority other than NCPD governing it, we got neither yet they promised same things for Phantom Liberty, the most logical ending is hidden behind a dialogue option, life paths barely matter, V always sounds like a street rat no matter what path you take I could go on and on. I always had realistic expectations of what it will be instead of hyping it sky high and even then it did not deliver experience promised.
