I played this game not knowing anything about the VtM world or lore. I did also play a modded version that got rid of some bugs and polished some of the gameplay. With that said, this game is well done. The story, the conversations, the characters, the RPG elements. It's a game that stands on it's own and few other games compare to it. Elements of this game still have impact today. Packed with ssome very memorable moments. This is a top 10 game of all time for me. But here's the catch- the last 3rd of this game feels nothing like the first 2/3. It feels like it was rushed out the door, like it just becomes a nonstop run a gun/fight. No pacing, just fight fight fight and then fight some more. I would have been harsher reviewing other games that did this, but earlier parts of this game is just so well done. I would dare say it's worth getting this game knowing that final stretch of disappoining gameplay is ahead. It's the kind of gaming experience many gamers want to experience. And it gets delivered, for a majority part of it, at least.
