I've discovered that games written with RTX have no fail-over for older machines without Ray Tracing technology. Translation: If you don't have RTX, this game won't run worth a crap. On purpose. This is forced obsolescence, and if nVidia doesn't fix the situation, they can kiss my arse. I'm on a blistering fast HP Elitebook, that was made before RTX. It's still faster than almost every current model made today, and there's no way in hell I'm going to trade it in because the people at nVidia are being a bunch of a-holes.

Let's be honest.. this game is older than your grandpa's farts, it's twice as stinky, but it lasts twice as long. Yeah! I said it! You probably won't find a clunkier, more dated game that is still worth playing. Why is it worth playing? Because it's the root of the Kain legacy series. This game is painfully long. I doubt anyone has completed it in two decades. It fills in those holes that younger players will be scratching their head at if they don't. Is it worth $6.95? HELL NO!! Anyone that loves the Kain Games ought to give it a try, for like 50 cents. If you HONESTLY want to try to play it through, then the shear length of the game would make it worth $1. I mean, honestly.. I'm pretty sure this game was abandonware for at least a decade or two. I just can't imagine WHAT the sellers are thinking putting a price that big on the game. I'd almost bet money that it didn't cost $7 when it was brand new in it's shiny shrink wrap packaging on the shelf. I would know, I still have that copy.. and I'm telling you, it's NOT worth it!

I'm writing this review because of idiots like RedRagan and jokeusa giving this game one or two stars because they couldn't problem solve their way out of a paper bag. This is a full blown EPIC length RPG / Adventure game, you losers. You will have to spend time looking for secret passages, building weapons and skills to defeat bosses, and yes.. even running quests. This game is HUGE! It's YUGE, actually. even with godly mapping skills, an intellect that would make Einstein embarrassed, and a photographic memory., you will STILL probably have to look something up on the wiki once in a while to find a widget or book or secret passage that is eluding you. Get over it. Stick to the novel games that won't let you make any decisions to change the game, and there by never get lost. The rest of us are going to jump feet first in to any juicy adventure that we can get out grubby mitts on to, and smile joyfully the whole time. :D

Game breaking bugs. It's a train-wreck. Critical failure: some @$$ clown developer decided to switch every character in the game over to using the gender neutral pronoun 'they', instead of using the proper he/she. These devs can go to hell. Keep your B.S. out of our games. The point of remastering an old game is to ENHANCE it, not to reduce its immersion level by throwing B.S. politics in to it!!

These are older than DIRT! Part 1 is STRICTLY for nostalgia. Part 2 is playable but old as piss. You might want it for the unique castle building echelons, but they should have just left it in the abandonware stuff. I'd pay like $1.50 for the pair, no more. THAT is strictly for the service of being able to find them on GoG if I wanted them.

Combine 'scraping the bottom of the barrel' survivalism with trying to survive in a warzone. That's what the author's of this game lived through. That's the experience they tried to convey. They nailed it. 7 STARS: Everyone on the planet should own this game. This game is so good, I'm considering purchasing this 'Complete Edition', even though I already own everything else the authors have sold, already.
