The Gunk is fairly simple, which has a certain appeal in today's market of games with super complicated mechanics and UI elements. It's also visually simple, but that's done well, and it's even a bit stunning in its art style. The actual gameplay is VERY smooth and feels awesome, the movement and action elements are responsive and quick. Repeat, it FEELS really good! The reason I stopped playing after only about an hour of in-game play... is that within this short span, I found 3 separate places where my character became stuck... Completely, game-breakingly stuck. Sure, you can load an autosave from just a few minutes before that, but it's ridiculous to HAVE to do so. The game is over two years old, almost three, so I'm fairly sure that it's not being patched. It's a shame, because this game is actually very playable and fun, besides this one problem that probably wouldn't have been difficult to fix. The one problem that makes me not want to pick it up again. I'm glad that I got it for free from Twitch/Prime, or i'd be asking for a refund, and as much as I hate doing that, it's the creative studio's responsibility to correct these kind of issues, not the buyer's responsibility to just grin and bear it. Please fix this issue for the people that did actually purchase this title. Redeem it! Redeem yourselves!
10/10, Games don't get better than this! Sure, we could complain about not getting some of the things we were promised before launch... but what we did get is still very much a masterpiece. Phantom Liberty is the whipped topping and cherry on top of a wonderous pie.
