Panzer General 2

One of the best strategy games ever

4 stars - because it often crashes in Windows 10. As for the game itself - I played it when it first came out, after having played Panzer General I. And it was brilliant. Took some time to figure out the new mechanics, especially the tanks having the "overrun attack" that doesn't end their move. Compared to PGI this one is perhaps a bit less difficult, and a bit more dynamic (if that term can be used for a turn-based strategy game). Playing it now: yes, the graphics is in low resolution and you do feel like you should see more of the map. Feels a bit cramped nowaday. :) But, apart from that, the charm is still there. And not many modern games have that sort of... "spirit"? As far as I'm concerned at least. Would I pay the regular price? No way. Would I buy it again? Well, it crashes, so only for sentimental reasons. If it weren't for that - I'd have said "Yes". It is what I'd call a classic. Along with PG I. In its time, both were a huge step forward compared to anything else (Battle Isle, History Line to name a few). Even today it is quite good - when it works. I even had some fun playing it against friends and brothers. And the game is very special to me - but I still can't keep a straight face and give it more than 4 stars - sorry.
