SWAT 4: Gold Edition

Overrated as hell. R6 killer this is not

Shooting armed criminals bad, pepper spraying/TASERing and hand cuffing old ladies good. After a short while you will simply equip your entire team (whose AI is terrible by the way) with beanbag shotguns. Unlike old RB6 games, which admittedly sucked as FPS but were pretty good tactical puzzle games, SWAT4 completely forgoes the planning aspect, making it more similar to the much-derided R6:Lockdown. Also, why the fuck do you need to progress in the game to unlock body armor or a gas mask?

F.E.A.R. Platinum

Superb

The Ring + The Matrix + John Woo films in FPS form. It works and it's a lot better than it sounds. Kudos to Monolith.

Crysis Warhead®

More of the same

Expansion pack to Crysis, nothing less, nothing more.

Crysis®

Mindblowing

A better Predator simulator than any of the AVP games and that's saying something. It's better to forget the (numbered) sequels exist, however.

Dead Space™

Pretty good

Blatant Resident Evil 4 ripoff with a blatant Gordon Freeman ripoff wannabe protagonist wearing a blatant ripoff of the armor from Lost in Space (1998). Still, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and it's not bad. Shame about the sequels...

Dragon Age™: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Not it

Awkward liberal Canadian attempt to combine The Witcher 1's "adult" dark fantasy themes with the naive and bumbling Baldur's Gate. Still better than the latter though.

Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™

Amazing and unique

Forget Twilight. Vampires are abominations and theirs is a World of Darkness. No kiddy stuff here. "Feeding" on prostitutes and the homeless. Flesh sculpting warlocks shooting snuff films. Hospital orderlies selling blood from captive living "cans". Vampiric psychiatrists experimenting on mental patients. Sending ghost reality show crews to cannibalistic succubi. Making innocent damsels into thralls. Haunted houses (!). And dark humor. VTM:B elevates "sleaze" into an art form. You will forgive and forget that the combat is a bit rough around the edges.

STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™

More of the same

An expansion pack, not a sequel, to KOTOR. Only major difference is "creative" Obsidian writing ("from my point of view both the Jedi and Sith are evil").

STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic

The first good Bioware game

It had to be good, otherwise George Lucas would have had the devs thrown into a sarlacc pit. Jokes aside, not only is KOTOR a creative use of the SW license, but also one of the best SW games there is. Highly recommended.

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition

Icewind Gayle

In typical Obsidian fashion, where almost every single one of their products follows the pattern "identical to game X except Y", Icewind Dale is simply Baldur's Gate except more focused on combat. You'd think that's a good thing... well it isn't, because if you're a fan of BG, you liked it for the (stupid) story, (generic) setting and (retarded) characters, as well as (idiotic) humor, not the (braindead) combat. And if you aren't, well, there isn't anything for you here either, except watching ugly sprites trying (and failing) to hit each other.
