The gameplay itself seemed fine - the animations and graphics are pretty slick and the few puzzles I did were okay, but the constant shifting and spinning of the camera when climbing on walls and ceilings made me incredibly motion sick to the point I am unable to play this game. After 30 minutes, I was too nauseous to continue. I rarely suffer motion sickness from games, but this one is intense with the constant camera spinning. I've seen reviews where others are saying the same thing. It's just something to be aware of before purchasing this particular game.
Shardlight. Another great game from Wadjet Eye. I really, REALLY enjoyed this one. The post-apocalyptic setting is nicely portrayed and the accompanying artwork is superb. A lot of care and detail went into the crafting of this game world, and it pays off big time for the player. I felt really immersed in it. Well-told story. Interesting characters. Fantastic artwork. Great voice acting. Some funny moments. Some sad moments. It's got a little bit of everything, and every bit comes together to create a true point-and-click gem. Only downside is the puzzles are a bit on the easy side overall, but it still had quite a few moments where I really had to stop and think. I was never stuck for too long which kept the story flowing at a nice pace. Highly recommended.
If you are a fan of the adventure genre, this game is a must play. The story, characters, art style, writing, voice acting, and puzzles are all fantastic. Lots of puzzles have multiple solutions to keep the story moving along at a nice pace. Primordia is a gaming gem that finds the perfect balance between challenge and adventure. I cannot recommend this game enough. This game won my heart with it's charm and engaging world. Easy 5 stars from me.
I bought this game on a whim because I enjoy point-and-click adventure games, and I also enjoy a good horror story. I didn't know much about it but the preview screenshots looked interesting. I went in blind, but this game did not disappoint. In fact, it ended up being a fantastic adventure game, and I even ended up purchasing the sequel as well. Don't let the pixelated graphics fool you or turn you off. If anything, this gritty style fits perfectly with the theme of the game. Speaking of the theme, the writing and story is also exceptional. It never ventures into cliche or cheesy territory which seems to be a common pitfall in the horror game genre. Combining an awesome soundtrack and sound design, interesting Lovecraftian-inspired story, developed characters, and clever puzzles... The Last Door is full of charm and mystery from start to finish. The game itself is divided into 4 episodes, with each one taking about 1-2 hours to complete so it's a pretty decent length. Plus, there are some short bonus episodes thrown in which build on the story and lore of the main game. If you're on the edge and not sure whether or not you want to get this game, I recommend just going for it if you are a fan of point-and-click adventures. When I play a game, I can usually tell within the first 15 minutes or so if I'm going to enjoy it. Believe me when I say, you will be hooked immediately from the very first minute of gameplay in one of the most gripping opening scenes in any adventure game I've ever played. Be warned though: this game ends on a major cliffhanger and the story continues in the sequel. However, I found the sequel to be just as good. I honestly can't think of any cons which is why I gave it 5 stars. This game was a pure pleasure to play through and enjoy. Highly recommended for fans of point-and-click adventures!
