It was bad performance, missing features, and broken promises. Now several years on it has recieved several big content updates. Many missing features made it to the game and so did lots of things that weren't promised. The difference from the original release game is astounding. The game is still a procedural survival gathering game but combat is better, exploring is better, graphics are better, variation is better, and it now has a new feature of building... either inside your new capitol ship or on the surface of a planet with your without your friends which you can now actually play with. I wish the game had dropped in price since $39 or $29 would be a great price for this indi game. I guess the promise of more amazing free updates which don't appear to be stopping any time new has to be funded somehow when the game doesn't microtransaction you do death like so many others.
