Cyberpunk 2077

Bad on my PC, awesome on GeForce Now

Bought this game in 2020, in the day it got released, encouraged by pre-release hype. Played it for a couple of minutes and I didn't like it at all. I've had like 20 FPS on the lowest settings, but even despite that, it just seemed hard and boring. I don't think I have made it past the first 40 minutes of game. Now, recently, I have decided to try this GeForce Now thing, because I have heard a lot of positive opinions about it. The only game I already own and which was too laggy to play on my own computer was Cyberpunk 2077, so I decided to give it a try. This time I reduced the difficulty, played with constant 90 FPS and Ray Tracing turned on and my experience was so much different from the one I've had on my own machine, that I have sinked into the game instantly. I am 20 hours into the game and I really, really like it. The plot and the characters are interesting, I enjoy the FPS mechanisms and in general I get some VTMB vibes from the game - it was unpolished at the time of release and still is somewhat bugged, but on the other hand, it is one of my favourite games ever. I have no regrets about buying the game on release day. Sure, I didn't play it at the very beginning, sure it could have sucked back then and I might have forgotten about it for over 2 years, but that being said, now I am having tons of fun and if there will ever be a sequel to this, it will also be because of my contribution. Unless my contribution will encourage CDPR to release another half-polished gem. But I hope that they have learned their lesson and their next game will be more tested. So, to conclude: buy the game, but if your machine is kinda old, like mine, do yourself a favor and play it in cloud.
