. . . the way these mod devs do. This mod trivializes your time and proceeds to waste it in abundance. The entire quest line is one pointless and meaningless fetch quest after another. Not to mention the numerous crashes, glaringly bugged quest markers, pointless obstacles to navigation, etc. These devs had an opportunity to learn from Fallout 4's mistakes (which are numerous) but instead decided to double down on and exploit every weakness in Bethesda's game engine. You should definitely skip this steaming pile of excrement and better use the 50 hours of your life that you can never recover from playing this mod.
So, let's get this out of the way at the outset. This isn't Skyrim or Witcher 3. It's an indy effort from a small studio. It does have a bit of jank. Well, more than a bit. But it is GOOD! I was not a fan (read I hated) of Spider's first two RPGs, Mars: War Logs and Technomancer. They were, in my view, terrible but necessary steps for an indy studio learning the RPG ropes. Greedfall is a solid experience and lightyears beyond Spider's previous efforts. The story, dialog and voice acting are excellent! The combat system is light on content and variety but well executed. I'd say these are the guys to watch on the RPG front. Looking back on it, who would have guessed that the devs of Witcher 2 were capable of the leap to Witcher 3. I'm guessing and hoping that Spiders is the next CDPR.
Does it have bugs? Yes. A lot of them? Yes. Are there quest breaking issues? Yes. Did it need another 8 to 12 months of development time? Yes. Is it fun? O hell yes. Most of what you read about Cyberpunk is true as best I can judge after 150 hours and 2 full playthroughs. But I've still had a great time playing around with what may be one of the best open world sandboxes around. The leadership of CDPR certainly screwed up the accelerated release but I have nothing but love for the devs themselves. I paid full price for the game and don't regret my choice. More importantly I think CDPR will make it right.
