Anodyne 2: Return to Dust

New dimension New gameplay possibilities

Anodyne 2 at its gameplay heart is a well rounded experience of 2D puzzles and 3D platforming, always feeling very responsive and never frustrating. This time around the infamous meta exploring is not held back for after you beat the fina boss, instead you are allowed and encouraged with collectables to go out of bounds to explore the eeriness and fascinating areas of a 3D map you normally are not supposed to see. The writing shows the continued improvement Analgesic had from Anodyne 1 to Even the Ocean, All Our Asia and finally Anodyne 2. Some characters way of saying things may put you off and confuse you a little but there is deep care for deeply humane themes and emotions just exploding to you from this build world. Nova the main character also shows great growth, breaking out of the typical mute protagonist puppet. The 3D areas are sure to give you strong nostalgia as N64/PS1 kid and are just as welld esigned as the 2D dungeons. The music once again so typical for Analgesic feels very alien and familar at the same time while lulling you into its relaxing trance.

The 25th Ward: The Silver Case

Even better than The Silver Case

This is a direct sequel to The Silver Case that manages to be just as interesting and even improve on the original. A detective Visual Novel mixed with mythology and new age of technology i best suda51 fashion. The controller support is basic but functional, unlike in TSC, the music is just as jamming and athmospheric and the illustrations are more colourous and numerous in this entry. Perhaps Suda51's best work right next to Killer 7 in my humble opinion.
