"La perfection n'existe pas." We say in France... But I keep trying to find anything wrong in this game and I simply can't. The feeling of exploring an endless pit for the first hours of the game is fantastic. The animation, the art and all the attention put into every bit of details to built Hollownest left me speechless. The music is beautiful, sometime charming, some over time very intense. The mecanics are clever: - The more you hit your ennemy the more you can heal yourself. - Healing yourself take time and you are immobile, you only have some precious frames into you can heal yourself. - When you die you can get back your money ala Dark Souls. - Also like Dark Souls, you unlock some precious shortcuts over time, the level design is astonishing. - To unlock the map of each zone we must find the cartograph... - There is a mechanic of fast travel to avoid unnessary travels... Team Cherry has done a fantastic job and I am waiting forward to anything they can throw at us right now! This is the best Metroidvania I played since the king of all MetroidVania : Super Metroid on SNES. It is even better than Super Metroid honestly but... you know due to the respect we owe to the elders that settled all the basis of this genre, I will just say that it is second. To honor this game, I decided to finish it at 100%, it took me 30 hours. I would recommand this game to anyone, really. Everyone must at least try it. Thank you Team Cherry!
