...but in order to do that, a game has to hold my attention for 8 hours or be completed... this game bored me in 4... because there is NOTHING here. basically imagine a single player game about facebook with a star trek skin.... yeah it's about as exciting as that sounds. Avoid.

but this is a broken mess. Imagine my surprise to find out the last boss' difficulty is based on your framerate (the lower the better). Add to this the way the "emulated" controllers doesnt work anymore depending on your OS (dont even try with Windows 10 or 11) or controller (nothing later then an Xbox 360 controller will do it) and this game just fails on all levels. I can only hope the deluxe edition is better, but for me, this one is done.

This is a really hard game to recommend to many gamers. It has very little actual gameplay to speak and unless you are looking to collect everything, your inventory is pretty pointless. Instead the game promises to be a much more atmospheric experience, but any given dream will show you about what you are exploring within 30 minutes of arriving. Even the promise of things getting a little scary the first nightmare suggests quickly evaporates. Rather, if you are coming here, you are here to experience it all with Howard and see how he deals with it all. On that front it actually works well and you will sympathize with him. But there is little else here.
