One step away for being amazing Indie

Harold is nice handcrafted adventure with good story, nice voice acting but like many Indies it is not without flaws. Harold is all about walking and walking and walking, talking to other characters, there isn`t puzzles or something to do besides that. Sure I encountered few puzzles but they are so easy hardly can call it puzzles and this might be the reason why this lovely game isn`t hidden gem. Some parts of the game can be very boring going to same places multiple times, talking to same people just to fulfill daily routine. Some dialogues feels like they don`t belong there and that`s about it. All comes down to walking and talking. gog galaxy experience: since I played and finished entire game on gog goalaxy wanted to share my experience. Harold works perfectly on galaxy, no issue whatsoever, overlay worked, achievements. For my 18 hours of gameplay never encounter any problem, game worked flawlessly framerate stable and constant. For people that hunts achievements: many achievements are hidden behind often to get them requires a second playthrough and there is a problem with that. After you finish the game you cannot start another run, game is not designed to be played more then once. There is an option to reset save files it does work partially since all notes and characters you already met are still there. For another playthrough and fresh start you would need to disable cloud save. 4/5 from me and only because I really like handcrafted characters. I think realistic would be 3.7 out of 5

Nice attempt, needs more depth....

Before I write my review want to say that I played and finished the game using gog gallaxy. Close to the sun was epic exlusive developed in UE4 and it does look nice even today after almost 6 years. Its a short 6-8 hours walking simulator with few easy puzzles to solve, the story is not great but not bad either. For me story was the weakest part of the game. Visually look great but performance is not that great, in my opinion uses cpu a lot and there is often frame drops for no reason. To put it simple weak story, great visuals, good atmosphere, very easy puzzles and not too scary. Mediocre at best, if you can get it under 5 euro go for it.

A true diamond....

there isn`t much I can tell about this game. It is top tier adventure one of the best I ever played. Compared to other games in trilogy Rise is the best. It was playstation port never ment for PC with bad optimization. Few years later with remastered dx 12 update they tried to make it better but it is still game that don`t run great on PC. 5 stars from me cause I love this game however playing via gog gallaxy I had problems constant crashes. Couldn`t fix it... Runs perfectly without using gallaxy launcher. No matter, I love this game and I was so happy it was finally released on gog :) *gog please fix problems with Rise using gog gallaxy.

Best Syberia game?

Incredible emotional journey. After huge disappointment with Syberia 3 this game blew me away from stunning visuals to great puzzles and amazing story. Visually looks great, Unity engine at its best, gameplay is very well done no bugs or problems of any kind through entire game. Also worth mentioning I played gog version of the game via gallaxy. Visually stunning, gameplay is very well done, puzzles are more simpler compared to original games but they are also reminder and a bridge connecting all games together. Technically game runs great high frame rate, no frame drops, gameplay and cutscenes runs almost flawless. During my playtime 23 hours never had a crash or any issue with this game. Amazing emotional story with lot of great dialogues and puzzles therefore maximum rating for this game.... ... to understand the story player should finish previous games first which is only downside of this game..... Brilliant work.

Masterpiece

A true master-piece. I own 2 copies of this game but none of them are gog versions. One copy I got from Humble and other copy I bought in store. Now lets begin... Hellblade is action adventure with some easy puzzles. You play as Senua a kelt warrior who come to Nord lands trying to find Hella, Loki daughter... Game revolves around Nord mythology but it also shows her culture, way of living, Kelt religion and so much more... Why Senua? Who is she? This game rely mostly on pre-european culture, you don`t have to but it`s better if you do understand who Kelts were, how they lived, where they lived and sedra. So, Senua was Kelt Godess and very important figure in their culture. Originally she was protector of their families, so Kelts they would prey to her every night. They believed she would protect their family and keep their house safe. But for some reason they stopped worshiping her. We don`t know when that happened and why, history have no clue, there aren`t any written documents about her mostly because this happened so long ago. We are talking about bronze age of human civilization a period at least 600 years before the christ. Kelts had very early metalurgy they knew how to make weapons even then, we know that because of their settlements we found, but they weren`t good fighters, they lack military skills, they lost almost every battle against german tribes and that is why Kelts move all the way from South Europe to England. We don`t know when game is happening in what century, but we are pretty sure Senua came somewhere from France because Kelts migrated to England much later around VI century AD not before. Game is showing lot of things what she is wearing, how is she fighting, if you noticed she doesn`t use shield, those things tell us so much about her. Not enough letters to finish my review.... This is master-piece a must have game. Every aspect of this game is so well made and most important story is true, most of the stuff are even underworld.

Really, really good Indie platformer

Simply said Trine is amazing game, part platformer, part puzzle game with some light RPG elements. Trine is fairytale with gorgeous visuals where you play with 3 different characters, each with unique skills needed to progress further. Enhanced Edition is so much better then original game. Supports higher HD resolutions, looks really pretty and much easier. They added checkpoints to save your progress, but also they revive your fallen heroes too. Levels are well designed with good visuals but they are simple and short. First 3 levels are made very easy to get you familiar with the controls and your heroes, then they become much harder and bigger with more dangerous obstacles. Narration before each level is very good, reading you few pages from a bigger book. Voice is nice and smooth like it is ment for little kids. Soundtrack is good too, easy gets in your head specially if you are playing for few hours, music stays in your head for hours :) Trine is unique game, give it a try, if you like first game try other game in the series, you won`t regret it.

Best game in the series

I finished all games in the series and for me Season Two is the best one. Best story, good characters backgrounds, good twist with original story. Season Two continues where first season left off, further adventures of Clementine. Episodes are long with good twist, narration is very good. Game is 12-15 hours long. For me this is the best game they made in the series, story, characters everything is so well done and very consistent with previous season. Like you never finished first season it keeps going and that I can`t say for later games... Only thing I don`t like is that I couldn`t transfer my choices from season one cause Telltale servers are dead so I had to start from scratch...

Big game made by small hands

Before I started writing my review I took a pick down below to read what others wrote about this game. Personally I think this game deserves better. Sure it has problems, its not like we have a new FF game, but give this guys some credit. A small studio tried to make a big game and actually this game isn`t bad at all. I bought this game during winter sale cause I wanted something new, different and yet I wanted to play JRPG. I can`t say I didn`t enjoyed it, but I can`t say it`s best JRPG out there, but my overall opinion is that this game is good just need more polish, more work for sure. Story is blend, I agree, it starts ok but then later loses focus and become something else... Characters are very roughly designed with weird faces for JRPG game, but this is not work of Japan masters.. Skills, inventory, progression are done pretty good, too complicated if you ask me, but well designed. Environment look really good, might be best part of the game. Enemies are well designed but sometimes it feels like they don`t belong in this game at all. From technical aspect this game runs poorly, often FPS drops, open area especially, too demanding hardware requirements for this type of game. This all my opinion about this game, but when you put all that together to form opinion, it`s not bad, but it`s not that great either. A solid middle ground if you ask me. I would never recommend this game for those who don`t play JRPG much and just want new and good JRPG game, but.... If you already played best know JRPG games in the genre and you want to tr y something new, sure pick this game, it will disappoint you in so many ways as it disappointed me, but you will like it anyway if you give it a fair shot.
