I personally really enjoyed the game over all. It was well written, and very unique as how the story unfolds as you explore a house. The puzzles are not hard and just more of a scavenger hunt. But i thought it was worth the ride. I enjoy story driven adventures, games like "the longest journey", "Anna", "Syberia" and "Blade runner", to name a few i have enjoyed immensely. All of which are much longer than the 2 1/2 hour play it took me to get through it. To me "Gone home" is me, like a good movie it was well worth my time. The game also has a very 90's collage vibe to it, so if you wen't to school around then, it really captured that part well. I'd give it 5 stars had the game been longer with more puzzles, But being so short, I'm deducting one. over all, defiantly worth the ride if this is your sorta thing.

I found this game due to it being free, and i love adventure games so i thought, why not give it a try. while it is in the dated graphics/sound era, the story, and game play was truly fun. As time goes on, the story and characters will grow on you, and the puzzles were a lot of fun. Outside of a few times being stuck, the game was very solvable, and in a fun way. Most puzzles are logical, and you know what you need to do, which is a nice change from some games that toss logic out the window, and you end up just trying to use any item, with any item and hope for a match. Over all, for a fun long evening, i highly recommend this game to any adventure fan. It brings ya back to the days that a couple of people could make a fun game, that was more than worth your time playing.
Omerta is a unique game in the city builder realm, It has city management, along with turn based combat. You manage money, to build an empire, while growing a gang and sending out thugs to help take over the city. The game starts off slow, but quickly gets deeper as you gain in power. You hire thugs to protect your business from Drive-bys, and take overs. You can upgrade your weapons/cars over time, along with leveling up the characters you control. Many different weapon types from pistols, rifles, Tommy guns, or even melee like bats and knives. All of which have vastly different styles/effects. The city management side is on the light side, but the combat is fun and challenging, especially on the higher levels. Recently a new patch has been offered out, that adds a rival gang to run in sandbox mode which is very challenging on the higher settings. If you enjoy the combo city sim/combat, give it a try.. there is a demo but is is basically the first mission tutorial in the campaign. As you get in deeper the game really grows. I have about 40 hours played, and the challenges ramp up as you get deeper. For those hard core players, there is also an iron man mode, which means no in mission saves, combined with the higher difficulties it can lead to real challenges. Send out your crew on a mission that goes bad, half your crew can be beat up really bad, which reduces their effectiveness, a few bad missions, your reign of crime might be over! Good luck keep the heat off your back!

Then why is it only 4 stars? Because i beleive in honest ratings and think there is almost always room for improvement. the game did have a few flaws, but honestly i don't think any of them are worth mentioning as they are more nit pick, vrs real issues.. Outside of that, it is actually my favorite game in the serries. the story was great, and game play a ton of fun. Adding personal goals like not knocking anyone out, or getting caught brings this game into the realm of very challenging. The game also has one of the scarriest moments playing a pc game i have ever experianced. You really can't go wrong with this game.

I'm a huge adventure game fan, but this one has some of the worst design decisions i ever have seen. To me an adventure game is all about figuring things out, and thinking about quests and emersion in a story. Not rapidly hitting buttons playing simon says, with zero room for error. I wouldn't call anything about this game above average, and lots is mediocre at best. But unless you enjoy being driven insaine by rapidly pressing buttons at random that just pop out of the blue at any time.. then i would pass.. I put this game more on the list of torcher, vrs fun.. If you do pick it up.. don't say i didn't warn you..

I bought this on a whim just cause I liked the title and saw something about mammoths and was intrigued. I must say the game did not disappoint. With out a question, one of the most original stories I've ever played. The main character had lots of very well developed depth, which was done in such a unique and amazing way. The puzzles, some easy, some hard, but most I would think are do-able by the veteran adventure gamer. (I checked a guide when I got stuck) Over all though I think most are solvable with time. (Side note, syberia 2 has a couple puzzles that are 4 digit codes, these with out finding in-game notes, which I didn’t, id call pretty impossible. Bottom like this is one of the few games I've actually been notably sad when it ended, and not because of the ending, but the fact that the game was over. If you like great stories, this is a must play. I know this site is filled with 5 star games, as every game I see on this site has a fanbase. Then again that’s why it’s a GOG. But honestly this one truly deserves it.

I bought this cause I like scary, and I like stories. I’m not the biggest fan of adventure games, but I do enjoy them from time to time. The game was creepy, but I wouldn’t call it scary outside of a few very quick things. The back-story was much more psychological than jump out and give you a fright. The puzzles, most were solvable, though a few I most likely would not of figured out with out hours of trial and error. One or two I’m not sure I ever would have figured out. If you’re really good at adventures it could be all doable id think. The game wasn’t as scary as something like “Thief deadly shadows”; a few missions had some heart stoppers. But if you’re into psychological thrillers this defiantly has some value. It's not as story driven as something like syberia, but it was pretty good. For a short adventure (took me about 12 hours) and something that is pretty fun over all, id say give this one a shot.
