Second Sight

Kept me coming back.

Second Sight is simply put, a third-person stealth-shooter with psychic powers. It's a good game, though for me the story was the better part of the experience. More then once I stopped playing the game because I was having difficulties finding the correct/best way in solving the levels but within an hour I was back for more. The gameplay may take some time to get used to but I don't feel it to be a big detriment. As the game continues you get more psychic powers which help solve the levels. the only ones I really used though was invisability, projection/possession and healing(never have to worry about health). My favorite tactic was to possess an enemy, bring him near me and shot him with the dart gun when he's going back to his post. One by one they go down. Most annoying part is how the game often forces stealth on you. If an alarm goes off, the game spawns endless amounts off enemies until you've gone into hiding. Guns-a-blazing is a no-no. But like a said the story kept me going. It starts with you arriving at some hospital with amnesia, you overhearing some guards talking about a slaughter involving you and children. Waking up you find yourself able to perform teleknisis and trying to piece what happened together. You find yourself playing through flashbacks, seeing yourself, a scientis, part of a team looking into an old russian project from the cold war, learning what happened and finding them to have some strange effect on the present. It is well written and can cause one to scratch ones head with an 'aha' moment near the end. 4/5
