No Man's Sky

Addictive exploration

Years ago when NMS was first released and getting updates, I was always curious about it. I had previously played Elite Dangerous for hundreds of hours, but I also enjoy base building games; NMS is a happy union of the two. (some building controls are a little jank tho) While NMS is a bit less serious/hard sci-fi looking than Elite Dangerous, the gameplay is great. I wish there was a game that had the asthetics of Elite with the gameplay of NMS, but for now, NMS is much more interesting than Elite to me, both in gameplay and story/lore. Even with so many hours in NMS now, I still find myself having "I wonder what that is." or "Oh wow, thats interesting." moments while exploring new planets. Elite lost that sense of discovery for me.
