I had this game years ago. If I messed up with the inital characters I was able to restart with the character installed with the game. Here on Steam if/when I deleted the original characters I was NOT able to recover them....even after unintalling GOG and deleting all saves. This game is relagated my "games I gotta griond hard" list.
Like Doom...don't stand still or your dead. Old School Fav still playable today
