Mature and superb adventure

A smart, mature and awesomely structured point and click adventure. Wadjet Eye as always excels in the field with incredibly well written dialogs, witty and well characterized characters and a steady and smooth gameplay flow. Puzzles are in average fairly easy beside a couple more complex ones near the end, but all in all are always fair and logical. The last chapter I found slightly more chaotic than the rest, but still very solid. Art is amazing as voiceovers and music. A must play for sure.

Freedom Force

Just amazing.

Superb game. The overall Kirby/early marvel atmosphere is amazing in every single detail. Gameplay is interesting, challenging and with a wide variety. The plot flows perfectly in style. If one can find tiny issues, on Windows 10 the game is a touch lagging, has a bunch of crashes and feels slightly clunky in general. But absolutely a masterpiece to be played for all the lovers of squad based games. A game that knew how to age awesomely.

Heritage of Kings: The Settlers™

Not bad, but very average

As the title says, at least for me it was not a bad bad game as some reviews mentioned, but somehow it's lacking what makes it a good game. The skirmishes and the gameplay itself is nothing new but bad, it doesn't invent anything but I mean, old city building is always nice. Combat is acceptable as well, AI is not the smartest and follows really simple patterns, but once and then it offers some challenge. One thing that made me cringe, and for that part it's 1 star max, it's the campaign. Shallow, badly stubbed, really empty characters, a plot that you manage to forget each map you play, plot twists awful and companions quite meh as well. All in all, playable, in some parts also quite enjoyable, I finished it, but i wouldn't play again for a while. I think we also gotta keep in mind that the Settlers series offered for some many years so much fun, that it's a hard legacy to keep up with!

Blackwell Bundle

Superb

A slow start, a glorious rise, a superb ending (I include Epiphany here as well because if you play the bundle you HAVE to play Epiphany as well). The first one is a touch slow and clumsy technically, despite already having a superb text writing and a very catchy set of ideas, both in terms of flavor and mechanics. Then they set onto an improving trend, and they get better and better. Technicalities get solved, art and music quality improves, the texts and plot writing improves even further. Very nice take on point and click investigation in a slightly different way than the classic Lucas ones. The use of note, research on the web/phone books, the open search fields (forget about random clicking your way through it) is also pretty interesting. A few puzzles along the whole series can be debatable in terms of logics, but all in all, a Must have for every PNC fan worth of its name.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut

Exactly the game I was expecting to play

Very very good game. What I might complain about is just because I am picky, I otherwise really enjoyed it. Very good story, visuals and combat system. For an RPG it might use a bit more cutscenes and the dialog system could definitely be better, but otherwise feels amazing. Right gameplay lenght, good immersion, very smooth gameplay (aside from inventory and team management that are a bit lacking). A couple of bugs here and there but overall minor stuff. Pros : - Nice visuals, fitting the style and settings - Very good story, gets a bit confusing in the end but overall stays super good - Simple but very nice combat system Cons : - Pretty bad/clumsy inventory system - Dialogs system could be better fitting an RPG game - Team management confusing at best - Needs cutscenes

Flight of the Amazon Queen

Old and gold

This game takes direct inspiration from Monkey Island and Indiana Jones, doesn't chicken out from declaring that, and makes an awesome job out of it. Smooth, logical, sarcastic and with that touch of pulp that the inspiring games lacked (it even shows dead bodies!), I personally loved it. Nice use of zoomed in characters for the cutout scenes as well, very Monkey-like, helps the atmosphere. Not much more to say, in general very positive attitude, enigmas and dialogs. Possibly a bit too easy enigmas sometimes.

Eador. Masters of the Broken World

Could have been but didn't

This game could be extremely good. It has it all there, I think he just failed to reach out to grab the change to go great for real. Even though most of the ideas are not "that" new, they all work. Some freshness is brought by a few features here and there, and the gameplay itself is sometimes very pleasant. But some other times you feel like just having to wait idle till stuff happens, gold refills, etc. All in all, playable, battles are pleasant to fight, but it doesn't catch me completely. And UX in the main map is seriously lacking.

Simon the Sorcerer

Old and forever gold

What can be said about Simon? That playing it again after 20 years didn't lose a single ounce of the original charm? That it is beautiful? That visuals, music, humour, and everything else are just perfect? A piece of history, I loved it 20 years ago, i loved it again now.
