realMyst: Masterpiece Edition

Wonderful

A very beautiful remake of the original. I especially appreciate having the point-and-click option.

The 11th Hour

Wonderful

The 11th Hour is much more difficult than The 7th Guest and consequently I still go back every now and then to solve the puzzles I couldn't solve before. The story is fairly well written but since this is a game and not a movie, the plot does not move in quite the same manner as they would in a movie. Nevertheless, I think it works and avoids the various pitfalls that played interactive movies made around the same time, such as the Phantasmagoria games and Black Dahlia.

Zork: Grand Inquisitor

Perfect

Zork: Grand Inquisitor is my favorite Zork game. It has all the quirky, silly sense of humor that attracted me to games in the first place. As a child of the 90's, I prefer the graphic interface over text. While it certain restricts the range of actions one can take in the game, it still provides the player with some fun surprises when using the wrong inventory items or spells on objects. The acting and storytelling are both very fine.
