Grandia II is the sequel to my favourite JRPGs of all time, and while it doesn't continue the story of the original, or take place in the same universe, it is still a phenomenal game. Grandia II improves upon the originals combat and levelling system, making the fights feel even more impressive and epic-feeling with vastly improved visuals. Add to that the fact that I tend to god mode (J)RPGs and level up to obscene levels, and I still found this game difficult in places despite doing so. I honestly cannot wait to sink my teeth into the new "Hard Mode" option for this game. The story, characters, and character development in this game is a lot of fun, and well worth experiencing. The bosses are well designed and each one feels unique. The magic system in this game is improved from the first game in that you now have Mana Eggs that have set spells that you can learn and level, and you can swap the eggs around between battles, allowing for a lot more flexibility. If you are a fan of JRPGs, get this game, you won't regret it.
