I'm not going to go into serious depth here (the other reviews will do so, I'm sure), so I'm just going to sum up: "Pathologic" is a game with really, really horrid gameplay, but despite that, it's an emotionally-draining experience that you really should play for yourself.

For one thing, you first have to know that this game is really buggy. I mean REALLY buggy. Though it is, as stated in the description, a near-perfect adaptation of the D&D 3.5 rules. As for the campaigns themselves, well... The original campaign is okay. It's incredibly cliche, but from the way the plot presents itself, it's clear that they knew they were writing a cliche storm and they decided to have fun with it. The likable characters and sometimes very witty dialogue make this one worth it, though. Actually, Neeshka alone is worth playing this for. Mask of the Betrayer is, put simply, amazing. Every problem one may have had with the original campaign is addressed here. We have a very dark, and epic plot here, with some of the best characters from the original campaign (Hi there, Neeshka!) returning. Storm of Zehir is also great, but for different reasons. Where Mask of the Betrayer was dark and serious, Storm of Zehir goes sprinting off in the opposite direction. And it is glorious. A silly, yet at the same time brilliant, piece of work here that's impossible not to love. I haven't played Mysteries of Westgate, but more content is always a good thing, right? So to put it simply, if you can look past the bugs, you have a decent main plot, a really dark and epic sequel story, and a lighthearted romp side-story. Altogether, this is a great package and well worth your time and money.
The porting of this game to the PC is so abysmal, that is absolutely ruins any fun to be had. Not only does the interface remain identical to how it was on the console (which leads to a large number of problems, such as taking far too long to quit the game), but it crashes all the time. I was willing to deal with the terrible interface for a while, but when the game crashed just as I completed a long and frustrating mission, I gave up on this game. If you want it, buy it on a console. But don't bother with this piece of crap port.
