Alder's Blood: Definitive Edition

Not bad but could be better

Love the art, love the atmosphere, but it's a little buggy and it feels pretty unfinished. Really whether it is okay vs. great depends on how much support the devs give it I think and I'd be happy to revise my assessment of the game if I see they are putting in that effort. Couple bugs to mention; events don't always resolve correctly, sometimes popping up later upon reloading the game even if you are some distance from where you resolved that event. One quest (which involve gathering herbs or mushrooms or something) didn't appear to have objectives populating so it couldn't be completed. Lastly, pathing is a bit of an issue; sometimes the map doesn't feel like it accurately reflects where you can move and occasionally the pathing takes you out of your way or into enemy view. Voice acting probably needs to be expanded as the little shouts from NPCs don't always work well with the written dialogue. Tooltips would be nice (though I can live without) and it would be nice if bigger weapons felt a bit meatier when you hit an enemy with them; if my greatsword creates noise when I swing it then it should damn well give a satisfying thwack when I hit something. Corruption mechanic could maybe be reigned in a little, I find myself putting hunters in the sausage grinder a little more frequently than I'd like and that is coming from a Darkest Dungeon player. I'm also unclear on why I'd ever send hunters back to base, I mostly keep them around to perform specialized tasks like crafting or scavenging or sacrifice them if they start getting that crazy look in their eyes.
