Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™

This game has great concept and intriging settings. No one can deny that. The first two chapter are great. And the first comversation in game is really amazing. But just after the first 2 chapter, the quality of content is dropping. And the side quest become like typical videogame errand quests. Though the dialogue and personnage are still not bad. BUT, the terrible combat system killed the game. I simply can't stand the combat anymore. There're no depth in the combat. It simply feels bad. The melee and gun fight are -10/10. If the impressive first two chapter is still enough for me to endure the -10/10 combat system, yet then the dropping quality of content since the 3rd chapter doesn't worth all these anymore. Besides, there're always some combat in the main quest, I just can't avoid it. Also, there're bugs. I've been blocked by passengers two times. And at the middle of the 4th chapter, the phone call that introduce the next main quest never come. I've tried relaunch the game but it doesn't work. I'm fed up with all these. Even worse, as an Chinese, I feel kind of insulted by the stereotype asian faces and funny Chinese accent in the 4th chapter. Therefore, I can only give a two star for the game.

The game is very fun to play and so on and so on... Until you get stuck on a lift. Yep - a lift. Well known, old bug near the end of the game, when you are unable to call a ride. If you know about it you can install a patch, but if you are playing it for the 1st time - guess what - it is necessary to advance in a game, so you can't finish it. Fun fact - the only way to repair the bug is to reinstall the game and start it over. 1/5 for this.

The graphics look really old. Many games looked much better back then (like Half-Life 2, which was made with the same Source engine). The combat is messy and uninteresting. The story feels like it was made by three boomers. This was my second attempt at playing this game, and I fear it will be my last, considering the number of good RPGs out there.

You're better off pirating this because the GOG version still have game breaking bugs that force you to start over. Game is 10/10 in the first few hours then goes downhill to a 5/10 with generic level design and skippable dialogue/lore dumps.

Prepatched with some awful mod that can't be removed If you want to buy VtM bloodlines, you have to go to steam (or find a reseller of a retail disk I guess). This release is literally unplayable, and false advertising. GOG aren't distributing VtM even though they're saying they are. It's surreal that this blatant fraud is still up
