This is an excellent side-scrolling shoot 'em up for the PC. It's similar to classic arcade hits like R-Type, but has its own Raptor: Call of the Shadows-like twist with a massive item shop. The visuals were excellent for the time and still hold up great, and likewise the soundtrack does as well. Pick this one up!! To GOG.com: THANK YOU FOR OFFERING THIS!!!!

Nice graphics, nice music, nice gameplay and the fact that this uses Boxer instead of raw DosBox for emulation. I love Boxer. Issa good program. Also, I (and you!) can get the soundtrack for it through GOG. Download this. It's cross-platform and amazing. Also you can play this with just a mouse. Haven't tried (or purchased one to) interface my mac with a dos mouse and play it with that. Good game.

Stargunner plays a lot like Gradius III or U.N. Squadron for the SNES, or Bio-Hazard Battle for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. PROS: +Fast, frenetic 2D SHMUP gameplay. +Gamepad support (access this in Options menu). +Modest hardware requirements. +Windows, Mac, and Linux compatible. +You can upgrade your ship with various weapons via currency obtained between missions. +FREE on GOG. CONS: -"Old" graphics will turn off graphics snobs. -No online multiplayer...yet.
