The best RPG I've ever played

I know the title of my review might seem a little headstrong, but I stand by it. I avoided the Witcher III for a very long time. As a Fallout fan, I was a bit catious of getting into a fantasy game, thinking that this would be closer to high fantasy. After seeing constant praises AND the NoClip documentary, I decided to jump in. I've not played any of the Witcher games yet...but I will be after this. The environments are deep and the story is very engaging. While some may like the silent protangonist, fully immersed RPG style of Skyrim (which is also great) I actually found myself loving the fact that I am not playing my own character. Geralt is funny, tough, and has an engaging story. Yes, you get to make decisions that guide the story, but Geralt and the world of the Witcher are already fleshed out a bit which makes it fun to see how it unfolds. One of my biggest complaints about modern games is the quest grinding. I do not have this issue in Witcher III at all. Yes, you may have a mulitple witcher contracts that involve killing a wraith or a forktail but they are all very unqiue. This game feels like a labor of love from CD Projekt because all the quests are so fun and unqiue. I am never bored. Speaking of some other unique items...Gwent. I've never been into playing games inside games. Like games in GTA or caravan in Fallout NV but Gwent...holy crap. I actually love it and find myself seeking out new merchants to challenge. Who knew a card game in an RPG could be so awesome? The characters and voice acting are both excellent. I find myself invested in the world and actually stress over decisions because I care about the outcome. I love the combat and the game is actually very challenging. I am 72 hours in and not even close to being finished. I've not even touched the expansions yet and that makes me very happy. I don't want a 30 hour game because this game is so good, I want to be able to play it for hundreds of hours. An absolute must buy.

Best video game EVER! Seriously!

I don't actually own this game on PC, I own it on Xbox One. I wanted to leave a review anyways because this game is absolutly amazing. From the moment you start this game it will capture your attention and imagination like no other game has. I have over 1000 hours of play time in The Witcher 3, and it feels just as awesome as it did on the day I bought it. I had never heard of CD Project Red before I bought this game. Major kudos to the creators, this game soo fun! I CAN'T WAIT for their upcoming game Cyberpunk! If you havn't played this game yet then your in for a real treat!

too short

its pretty sweet but once you get hooked into it, it stops too quickly with little or none endgame. I mean they could have easily done all the quests to refresh themselves, without have to restart the whole storyline to do that. Cause restarting the storyline for the 50th time in a row starts getting depressing, and being locked out of zones you had access to before, also annoyingly lame. the melee combat also has some issues that can irritate you in the perfect moment for maximum effect. Good graphics and atmosphere though. kinda poor performance.

Probably the best video game released

As an artists and long time PC gamer I don't think there's a game that compares to this. The world is the richest of any other worlds in any game, everything looks and sounds beautiful which brings in a feeling of being there. The main story itself is fantastic and immersive and coupled with many other quests it brings the richest experience i ever gotten. The game mechanics are well balanced. it doesn't feel Grindy or boring and it allows me to play more like i want to instead of pigeon holing me into way of playing. I'm really amazed and blown away by this game, and i'm not a series fan at all - I didn't play Witcher 1 past 10 minutes and didn't care for it much, Witcher 2 was nice but i'm not exactly sure what to think of it. The only reason i didn't play this sooner is because i was never a fan in particular but once I gotten to playing this I can't help but declare this the Best video game I ever got to play. Playing it a 2nd time atm. 2 areas which are imperfect but i'm not sure they can be fixed: The fact i have to kind of put aside the sense of urgency to progress the main plot and help a certain somebody in order to explore the world and do the side quests. On the one hand i want to progress and solve the main quests as soon as possible because they require my urgent help, on the other hand i want to explore but It always feels like i should be solving the main quest when i explore. Not sure this can be fixed easily in future games but i scratch it as a minor critique. Another area is the doing of the DLCs , I've YET to play them and i'm sure they will be great, but again when i'm supposed to go save someone i find it weird i can side step the main plot to begin a sub plot. These are the only imperfect spots for me and while i don't know if it can be fixed outside of suspension of disbelief, i still wanted to point them out. Very minor.
