Beautiful game.

I sank hundreds of hours into the Witcher series, and I can honestly say that TW3 is the best RPG ever made. First of all, it's HUGE. Velen, Novigrad, Skellige - each one of those three areas is roughly the size of Skyrim, and each is packed with details and interesting characters. And there's Toussaint (Blood and Wine), which feels like a monster-ridden vacation to Italy or France. The story is extremely satisfying. You are not the One. You are the opposite of the One, a mutant, an abomination in the eyes of the Eternal Fire. Yet, your actions are what makes the world go round. There are no "some ___ stole my ___, go to a goblin cave, fetch it and be done with it" quests. If a quest asks you to fetch something, be ready to unfold the real and horrible story behind it, maybe remove a curse, and/or kill the quest giver based on whatever. There are contracts, which will have you kill legendary monsters. There is A LOT OF STUFF. The bottom line is, TW3 is well worth the money. Also, get the first two, there are many characters in TW3 that are first met in TW and TW2, so playing the first two games will help you understand who you're actually dealing with. Plus, they both have excellent storylines as well. PS. I hate portals.

Patched the patch

While the first "next gen" patch did basically more harm then good, the soon follow-up patches fixed the most troubling issues. That said, I got a 1070 and used to have quite playable experience in basically all scenarios, which isn't the case anymore - so in case your gear hasn't been updated and you know how well it used to run, it likely won't anymore. And because of that, i actually have to tune down the graphics - ironically, now it looks even worse than before while also running worse at the same time. And 2 other issues have been introduced as well - I use a ultra-wide screen, which now seem to fk up some "scenematics" (flickering, out of center, camera tilt) - has become better after a patch, but still notiably worse than it used to. And my controller does not work anymore. How bad that is, i don't think i have to tell you.

Complete Edition trash

Before to this new next gen update was a top game worked 100% but after this Complete Edition it complete trash game crashes on loading if you do manage to get it running it runs like trash

Constant crashing...

Seems to be an OK game so far, at least from what I can gather in the 10 minutes I get to play between the CTD. I'm about 5 hours in, and have crashed countless times already. Apparently since the next gen update the game has become completely unplayable, that is, unless you only want to play for about 10 minute stints. I really wanted to like this game, but I can't in good concious say it is good with such crippling performance issues. I guess I should not have expected more knowing CDPR and their quality control.

The best I've played, And still play.

I've clocked over 5000 hours on this game. Ordered my 1st specifically built PC to play it on. Joined GOG just to buy it :-) My first game with them. - I've still to completely cover all spots of interest. The only game I have this old, that I go back to. - Started in 6/8/2016 My last save is 31/5/2022. Yep last month. Update 8/09/2025 - I became a Witcher 3 tourist. Just wandering around in the game is worth doing. The views are spectacular. Just walking through the bush, or climbing up the high spots. Sunsets, great! -
