Icewind Dale 2 Complete

Planescape: Torment is pretty much the only game I've played utilizing a D20 system that I felt was great. Probably because the story, characters, and settings were so amazing. Every other one always just feels like such a mess. I really wanted to get into this one, I liked the idea of making my own party and progressing through the game. Sadly, the D&D systems in place are just tiresome and slow down the game immensely. I just never have been a fan of the outcome of a fight more or less coming down to random numbers. That is all this is. Take a battle, use all the strategy you want, but if the random numbers don't favor you, you will lose.

Stick with Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II:Shadows of Amn. These two games are WAY BETTER than Icewind Dale series. Why do I say this? Why such low rating? Because this game is RIDICOUSLY HARD! Even in normal difficulty setting. On top of that in BG and BG2, the gamer feels he is part of the group. There is interactions between party members in BG2(not silent compare to ID and ID2). When you play normal setting in BG and BG2, the gamer is ACTUALLY playing in NORMAL setting!!! I wish GOG.com would give out a "trial version" of this game and not waste my $10. I'm VERY displeased with ID and ID2. I really don't understand how this game has high ratings(must be GOG.com employees themselves or someone who is fanatical about ID and ID2). I will have to side with BG and BG2. The game play is better , no need to create six characters, not having to fight a MOB of MONSTERS when the gamer first starts playing, which I think is ridiculous. If anyone out there has $10, stay away from ID and ID2. Instead, purchase BG or BG2, you'll see what I mean. Then purchase ID and ID2(I would not suggest but try them out, don't take my word for it, try it! I dare any gamer! buhahahaha!). I already have BG, BG2, ID and ID2. I compared both series and I will have to say, BG and BG2 FTW!!! I wish they would of made BG3 or something similar to BG.

Dungeons and Dragons should never be used as a foundation for a computer game, the system sucked as a pencil and paper system and its even less appropriate for computer games. End result is alot of effort building a game based on a fundementally flawed concept in the first place. I get the sense that had they created their own rpg system that was appropriate to the game style this would have been an amazing game.

I love these kind of games, but my monitor is 22 inches and this game looks utterly terrible. i bought the game but effectively threw money in the garbage. everything is fuzzy and the game looks unplayable. the game itself is probably great and right up my alley... but unless you have a small screen and a fondness for very old school graphics you may want to look elsewhere

I'll begin from the bottom line - do yourselves a favor and stay away from this game! I bought the game right after finishing the first IWD which I highly enjoyed, and my disappointment from the second one was as I enjoyed the first. The graphics are awful, the gameplay lags and everything that was good and easy to handle in the first game was basically destryed in the second one. To sum it up, I feel like been robbed of my money - honestly I threw money to the bin. Again, do yourselves a big, huge, massive favor and stay away as far as you can from this one
