Description
Sacred 2 Gold is included with the purchase of Sacred 2 Remaster.
Ancaria stands on the brink. T-Energy, the mysterious power source that once brought prosperity, now fuels corruption, conflict, and chaos. In the midst of war and betrayal, seven heroes rise — each with their own fate, abilities, and path through a living, breathing open world.
In this remaster of the beloved action RPG Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, players return to a massive fantasy realm filled with hundreds of quests, dangerous dungeons, and unique combat arts to master. Battle monstrous creatures, uncover ancient secrets, and shape your character through loot, leveling, and deep customization.
With refined combat mechanics, a modern UI, full controller support, and all expansions included, the remaster brings new life to a fan-favorite — whether you’re revisiting Ancaria or setting foot in it for the first time.
As a special bonus, every purchase also includes the original Sacred 2 Gold — the complete classic edition for those who want to experience the game as it was first released.
Forge your legend. The fate of Ancaria awaits.
Includes all expansions and updates in one definitive edition
Smoother, more responsive combat
Modern UI and full controller support
Enhanced textures, lighting effects, and view distance
This "remaster" is worse than the original in almost every single way. Removed control options, number of weapon slots, number of inventory slots, number of combat arts (spells/attack skills) slots, no free roam options, crashes galore. It's a disaster through-and-through. In fact, the only thing they improved was the graphics... slightly. As usual, "Remaster" = worst version.
Buggy mess easy Cashgrab.
Its a Demaster.
It Has more bugs then its predecessor Audio and visual Bugs.
Graphic its only AI Upscale
Its opitimized for Controller so with Mouse and Keyboard you'll lose.
Its stated as a full release not Beta or Alpha they are are not obligated to to give you patches.
This is my Steam review for this pile of *schniepl* Sacred Goblins would say
Sacred 2 Demaster
*New* UI is a disaster
Hitboxes of Monsters are too small to click especially for small Monster Types (Wolfs, Goblins, Humans, Rats) for Mouse Gameplay.
Have checked the Old Game Sacred 2 Gold in the last 10 Minutes it definitely feels more fluid but still has its own clunkyness
There is no + showing up when u level up to go into their respective Interface options to Level/Set your Attributes/Talent Points
Graphical Improvements? Sorry its the same.
The Graphic Options in this Game Menu gives u a Paradox of choice moment, mostly word Salad that only a dev would understand.
New UI is a disaster. Obviously designers didn't play the game and have no idea which buttons are important and which are not. Graphic improvements are negligible, and gosh, you CAN'T rotate camera with A/D like it used to be. Only with mouse wheel. And it's VERY hard to point a mob with a mouse so you have to be very precise and your character is running around a mob instead of striking it. What is this? Are we being trolled in 2025?
Of course we'll see lots and lots of updates, patches and mods (if not by lazy developers, surely by great Sacred community) but for the time being I see literally no reason to buy and even play this remaster comparing to the original game.
1/10, that's just so raw and terrible.
Even if I’ll probably get heavily downvoted for this, please accept that this is simply my opinion.

Let me start with what I don’t like. I tried playing the game with a controller because I enjoy sitting back in my chair and playing in a relaxed way. Unfortunately, that wasn’t really possible here. Combat itself is fun, but honestly, the controller setup feels completely off. Please take inspiration from games where controller support is well thought out. Copy what works — it’s better to adapt proven solutions than to reinvent something that frustrates the community. Trading, selling, buying, storing, even simple inventory management — it’s a nightmare. Why not make it “click and done”? Click on an item and it moves instantly into storage, then you can rearrange it later if needed.
Potion selection on the quick bar is another nightmare. Which potion am I actually selecting? You can’t tell. I press A (Xbox controller) and instead of a healing potion, I end up using something completely different.
Character creation is also problematic. How am I supposed to rename my character with a controller? On PC you just click into the field where “Shadow Warrior” is written, but with a controller it doesn’t seem possible. That’s something you should have noticed — who signed off on this?
Graphics: honestly, I barely see any difference compared to the original. Maybe things look a bit sharper and less pixelated, but that’s about it. Still, I can live with that.
UI: I like the design and colors, but navigating the UI/GUI with a controller is just awful. Please, take a look at other games — Diablo IV, for example. Learn from them.
On the positive side, I really like how skills and spells are organized. It’s clear and easy to understand, no complaints there.
Combat: still a lot of fun. As I said, I play with a controller and I really enjoy it. But again, potion selection needs to be clearer — right now I’m guessing, and 90% of the time I end up using the wrong one.
Quests and voice acting (especially the German version and the Shadow Warrior) are still fantastic and funny. The nostalgia hit me hard — I laughed a lot last night. The Shadow Warrior’s lines are still brilliant.
So far I’ve played about 5 hours here on GOG and about 2 hours on Steam. Overall, I do like the game. But now you need to react. Communicate on your channels. It’s not acceptable that I only find out on a Steam livestream that the GOG version is delayed. I would have liked to read that on X, Bluesky, or similar platforms. Don’t ruin this for yourselves. Communication — outside of Discord or Reddit — is absolutely essential. The majority of your community doesn’t use Discord or Reddit. If you fail here, believe me, the frustration will grow. Communicate and respond — that’s my strong recommendation.
Thank you for bringing this game back. I hope there will be more improvements and optimizations to come. Thanks again!

//EDIT:
One more thing: removing Sacred 2 Gold as a standalone purchase is honestly a disgrace. Shame on you for that. It doesn’t matter that Sacred 2 Gold is now bundled with the remaster — players see that it’s no longer available on its own, and they’re frustrated. In my eyes, that’s not community‑friendly at all.
Community‑friendly would mean: if someone already owns Sacred 2 Gold, they should get Sacred 2 Remaster at 60–70% off. And yes, there are publishers who even grant full new releases to owners of older entries. I’m not saying you always have to do that — you need to earn money — but come on, think it through.
Thanks for reading.
For the people like me who have owned Sacred 2 Gold on GOG for years this should have been added to your account like they did with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Enhanced verions. Having to rebuy a remastered version that might potentially be wrose than the origional just seems like greed. They made a console port for current gen and called it a remaster.
