This is mentioned in another thread, but it disserves its own topic.

The DVD Vob/MPEG videos are included with the game now, but the game defaults to the original CD version's AVI files. Something needs to be done to fix this...

The issue may be a problem on SCUMMVM's side of things, but I have no idea. I can't find a proper compatiblity information for this game.

The closest were discussions in 2015/2016 that state that compatiblity hasn't been fully implemented yet... Has anything changed since then?

At least the videos are there for future if SCUMMVM is improved. Also they can be accessed and watched with VLC player if anyone is interested....

So assuming this compatiblity list is not out of date... It seems that the ScummVM hasn't yet implemented full support of the DVD.

I guess this means that at least on GOG's end the files are there, so if ScummVM catches up to the game, that those features can easily be implemented at a future date....

At least people can enjoy watching them seperately.

If no last minute show stoppers turn up, that may be fixed soon: https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/1356

I've never encountered that problem, neither when running the latest development version under Linux nor when running GOG's version with Wine. Though I only tried entering the well without a light. Does it affect every death text, or just some in particular? Does it draw the text first, and then erase it, or does it not draw the text at all?
